Marketing post graduate

I’m feeling absolutely fed up today, I was due to start a MSc in Marketing next September to build upon previous work experience. I’ve had time out with sporadic freelancing jobs to raise my children and felt it’d be a good kick up the backside! Anyway I’ve been told today that they’ve removed the part time option, and are recommending I join the MBA course instead.

I’m open to changing options but after so long deliberating on what to do with myself it feels like a bit of a blow. Having looked briefly at the MBA it looks far more geared to general business management/possible analyst roles as opposed to marketing specifically.

Has anyone done an MBA here? Looking at career prospects and where you are taking it.

I wonder if MNHQ would amend your title for you? I opened the thread because I’m nosy - but MBA grads won’t know from the title that you want their advice.

(Sorry I can’t actually help!)

If you want to get into marketing properly then you need to do the marketing msc, with ideally plenty of focus on the digital side too as thats where all the growth is. An MBA is useful if you are already an exec and looking to climb the ladder in the org you are already in (or similar). Unless its from a top tier business school (like LBS) in which case you'll have more options.

@Ohsugarhoneyicetea thank you so much, it’s as I suspected. I’ll look elsewhere for another course.
