Granted only been a week so perhaps that’s why but did expect something yet weight not dropped at all.
This was this last week..
Mornings just two cups of tea, no sugar, small splash of milk
Lunches, four days of home made vegetable soup enough of a pan to last made from onion, 4carrots, celery, bag of kale tin of tomatoes
Other days eggs, 2,scrambled, boiled.
Dinners, omelette, grilled fish, small grilled steak, all with green veg, no potatoes or bread. One day slow cooker stew, minced beef & veg.
Mid afternoon coffee with cream, nothing in the evenings.

But not lost so much as an ounce! Pretty fed up to be honest. Can’t do any exercises as such, just pottering about the place as my spine is wrecked! Though my four dogs & gardening keep me moving. Is this the problem?

Don't know why you didn't get any replies. Possibly people were as stumped as you! You didn't mention water, you're supposed to drink a lot. Also your diet might be too low fat?

Darklane · 05/03/2023 16:27

Thank you for replying. Is there a reason for drinking lots of water? Have to admit haven’t increased that.

I think the water helps flush out fat? Biwi on the low carb bootcamp threads would be the one to ask about that. Maybe have a look at her bootcamp because she explains how it all works

@Darklane
Hope you don't mind me jumping on but in similar situation?!
I'm in a huge calorie deficit to lose 2lbs a week. (Eating around 600 -800 calories which is lean meat and loads of veg).
I'm exercising around 200-300 calories most days , but not "eating" them or considering them.
2litres of water a day.
Keto diet.
I'm wavering around the same weight sometimes dipping 1 or 1/2 a pound down but I'm not consistently losing like I did a few years ago when I did exactly the same thing??!

Hi there. Did you download Carb Manager App? It’s free. I employed a dietitian from Defeat Diabetes. Low Carb specialist she told me as a post menopausal woman - under 50g net carbs, 60g fat and 75 protein. She said to make sure you reach protein allocation. I was always over on both fat and protein and she said to cut back on the fat if no results.

beckslovestimmy · 07/03/2023 21:36

Is there a reason you are going low carb?
I'm just doing calorie counting with an emphasis on increasing my protein which in turn is lowering carbs. I'm eating lots of lovely food and have lost 16lb in 5 weeks.
It doesn't sound like you are eating many calories or much protein really. I used a TDEE calculator and was given a much higher number than expected. Sometimes it's counter productive to lower your calorie intake too much.

WinterMusings · 07/03/2023 21:45

As well as the water, would you adjust your soup a bit? Tomatoes & carrots & onions are higher in carbs than desirable. You could swap for say garlic, courgettes & other leafy veg. Maybe some chicken
or fish.

try to up your fat & protein.

As someone's else's mentioned there is a low carb boot camp thread and great advice on it. Especially first 2 weeks. And loads of water.

OhCobblers · 07/03/2023 22:03

@beckslovestimmy

I think because it worked so well last time and I don't really enjoy eating carbs.
My TDEE suggests around 1500 calories for maintenance so to lose 2lbs a week need deficit of 7000 making it 500 calories a day which is quite tough!
Last time I ate 800-900 but was exercising a lot (which is v dull!!) with it!

beckslovestimmy · 07/03/2023 22:09

Ahh ok fair enough. 500 would definitely be tough and unsustainable. Weight loss is so hard isn't my it! Fingers crossed the scale states moving for you soon.

Check out Diet Doctor, Low Carb Down Under videos, Professor Ben Bikman, Dr Jason Fung - both on Youtube. Dr David Unwin on Youtube. Don't worry about calories. Low fat and calorie restricted diets is how we all ended up in this mess. I am guessing you are insulin resistant. This is from someone who joined WW in 1984.

BakerLea · 09/03/2023 13:56

Cheesedoffandgrumpy · 09/03/2023 14:00

tilestoclean · 09/03/2023 14:07

Are you weighing daily or just once a week?
