What goes with cheese?

I have bought some posh cheeses and I'm wondering what to serve them with. Obviously crackers are right out but is there anything else low carb I could have? Pickled walnuts maybe? Celery sticks?

M&S now do some seed crackers that are very low carb.

Otherwise...more cheese? Grin

Grapes, apples

PollysPockets · 07/03/2022 20:10

Not sure if it suits but I often have pickled gherkins, a cut up apple or Cherry tomatoes with a bit of balsamic drizzled over with my cheese.

SaltedCaramelIcedLatte · 07/03/2022 20:17

Salad...vine tomatoes and cucumber?!

Handsnotwands · 07/03/2022 20:48

Gherkins, celery, cucumber, ham, more cheese, nuts

Well of course more cheese! Grin

If you're talking about good cheddar (or perhaps other English cheeses), then a good pickled onion works well (and they're not too high in carbs - [[https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-pickled-onions-465g Sainsbury's are 8.5g per 100g but you won't be eating that much), or gherkins.

Celery works well, especially for a bit of a crunch - possibly slices of cucumber?

Sorry - link here

Cold meats
Grapes
Figs
Pickles - onions, peppers etc
Olives
Sliced apple, pear
Butter. Lots of salted butter for any crackers you might try 😁

Slightly melted into an omelette.

Keto seed crackers are v easy to make that's what I use.

MrsSkylerWhite · 08/03/2022 20:02

Goats cheese, onion and beetroot are match made in heaven but perhaps the veg is too high if you’re sticking to 20g

Thanks for your suggestions, everyone. The pickled walnuts were quite ridiculously carby so I abandoned those. I got more cheese (Gruyere, Stilton and Pie d'Angloys) on @GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal 's suggestion. Grin I also got celery, cucumber, a little apple and some grapes my kids will eat most of them so I'll only have a few cocktail onions (5.6% carbs,) cocktail gherkins (6% carbs,) Sweety Drop mini peppers (12.5% carbs so a bit on the high side,) some cured meats, olives and slow roasted cherry tomatoes (10% carbs.) A few of those are higher carb than usual but I'm on weight maintenance so I don't have to be too strict. DH and I will have a mighty feast when the cheese order (Cheddar, Gorgonzola, Brie-de-Meaux style) arrives on Friday.
