Carnivore diet

Is anyone else following the carnivore diet and want a discussion thread?

I have 4st to lose and diabetes to reverse.

I'm on day 3 and finding it great so far, but I low carb most of the time anyway. I'm suffering a little bit in the toilet dept. a couple of hours after eating but nothing too bad.

I'm eating between 12-8 with a small snack early on and then my dinner. I'm not counting calories.

And I'm trying to hit at least 10,000 steps a day on Samsung health, by either walking, dancing or on an elliptical trainer. I'm a bit tired since I started this but I expect it to pass soon🤞

Hi ElizaLaLa I started on March the 4th in desperation due to inflammation and anxiety issues.

Normally I eat very little meat and eat a lot of veggies and fruit but I Googled ultimate diet for inflammation and anxiety and decided to try it as I felt so desperately ill mentally and physically. Wracked with pain and suicidally depressed and anxious.

OMG the difference! I am on day 7 and everything has changed for me in that short space of time. The first thing I noticed was the pain in my body diminishing and I was able to think a little straighter and without the nine out of ten anxiety. I am starting to get a calmer brain after three years of extreme anxiety inducing occurences. This is not related to lockdown. Lockdown came as a blessing to me!

Given the choice I would live on fruit but I now know that it was making me ill. I started this as an experiment but am now going to properly research it to find out how to be maximally healthy on it.

Not feeling any hunger at any point is weird. Presumably as a result of having no sugar spikes and the concommitent low?

I have always eaten the fat from roast dinners etc. just because that was the way I was raised. When I am eating it I can tell the fat is good for me.

I was really hoping this wouldn't work for a host of reason including ethical and financial reasons but I feel so much better I am going to carry on for now and see were it leads as I feel weirdly neutral with a settled warm happy feeling with no peaks or troughs and the anxiety, which I am on drugs for, is diminishing by the day. I can concentrate for the first time in years! If this feeling was from a drug, it would make billions!

Maybe I am allergic to something that I eat daily without being aware of it. For now I am too ill to mess about adding things in to try and discover this. I need to get a lot better before I start experimenting.

I am eating eggs, meat and the fat on it, almonds dipped in a mix of himalayan salt/Mg Ox/Mg malate/potassium citrate and tea and coffee with skinned milk and that is it. I also make my own tiny quantity of goat milk kefir which I have every other day.

The changes are miraculous for me.

Hi!
Just found this thread. Are you still following the carnivore diet?
I’ve been doing it for 8 months and still going strong if you wish to discuss
