Funny do after giving up carbs

Im trying to give up carbs. Am on day 5. Am absolutely shattered.
I just did a short walk (normal for me) and went massively light headed.
I haven't eaten very much today (400kcals) just cos I couldn't think what to have that isn't carbs. (Had a banana, nuts, veg soup and a protein shake)
Did anyone else experience this? Light headed and absolutely shattered. Feel like I've been tranquillised!

I imagine you feel like that because you haven't eaten anywhere near enough. I don't know much about low carb but I think you're meant to eat lots of fat and definitely not bananas.

Of course you're feeling like that because you've not eaten enough.

There's plenty of low carb foods:
Berries
Green veg
Eggs
Meat
Pulses and beans
Hummus
Yogurt

Please do not starve yourself like this. The list I have given above is low carb to the best of my knowledge. I don't do keto so don't know all the details.

Banana is high carb. You need to eat plenty of protein, fat and fibrous veg. You will feel light headed for a few days until you readjust.

You need to keep your electrolytes up - you need sodium, magnesium and potassium.

Sodium is the key one, which you can easily get by using more salt.

(Knock the banana on the head though - way too carby!)

... but also, 400 calories is ridiculously low. Never mind carb flu, you're not giving yourself proper nutrition and nothing to supply you with energy.

Far too little food. Plus bananas are high carb and quite a few nuts aren't especially low carb either.

Have a nice plate of bacon and eggs.

Or a cheese omelette. Or a tuna salad with boiled eggs, olives and hummus. Eat.

Pulses, beans, hummus & bananas aren't low carb.

You need more food generally, more fat, protein, electrolytes (salt, minerals etc - you can get specific electrolyte supplements if you want to go down that route, or try a mug of hot bovril or bouillon to drink). More vegetables generally. There are lots of guides online to show what vegetables are safe to stick with on a low carb diet - generally anything leafy is ok, avoid any white vegetables except for cauliflower, avoid root vegetables. If it's sweet, avoid it. Add oils, especially olive oil, coconut or avocado oil, ghee or butter to your food. Some seeds & nuts are ok, but check the carb content first some (e.g. cashews) are high in carbs. It's easy to just eat a lot of meat on low carb, but it gets boring, it's expensive, not that healthy or balanced, & you're likely to get constipated. Vegetables!

Find delicious foods by adding herbs & spices, fats, vinegars, using different proteins & being adventurous in combining things in different ways.
