I've been doing Low Carb and....

have lost 6lb's so far :-)

Thats in 4 weeks though which I know doesn't sound a lot to some but its the most consistent weight-loss I've had in aaaaggggeeesss.

I try to stick to less than 100g of carbs Mon to Friday but I have more like less than 50g. Weekends I don't go way overboard but will not be to strict and I've been doing 16:8 everyday with a few days where I've only managed say 12 or 14 hour fasts. I tend to do more like 18-22hr fasts and twice I have done a 24hr fast.

My food is simple....if my family are having meat, veg with mash or potatoes, I just opt for the meat and veggies. Breakfast I skip but if I do have breakfast which is usually on a Sunday then I will have my bacon and egg sandwich. Lunch is so simple too, I eat a range from boiled eggs, chicken, ham, peparami sticks are my fave at the moment, cheese. Today I've eaten 5x peperami sticks and 1x boiled egg - some may say that's boring or not enough but it amounts to 643 calories so I'm certainly not starving but the main thing is it was low carb and high in fat. I still use MyFitnessPal as I still like to ensure I don't go too over my recommended calorie intake.

Has anyone else been doing Low Carb and had some good success on it?

I've been going over to low carb after stalling with my calorie counting efforts.

I'm eating full fat cottage cheese, full fat natural yoghurt, sliced jarlsburg cheese, cooked chicken, rocket, tomatoes, blueberries, apples, gold top milk, eggs and vegetables. Snacks are pistachio nuts. I've completely cut out pasta and potatoes, but will have a small amount of rice and the odd slice of seed bread if I'm crawling up the walls.

Well done on the weight loss but 5 pepperoni sticks? that's a lot of salt approx 75% of your daily recommendation.

@ineedaknittedhat I'm really enjoying the low carb, I've reduced foods such as crisps, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, chocolate.

I'm really good Mon - Fri and I don't feel guilty at the weekend if I do want some chocolate or some pasta.

I've also been incorporating Intermittent Fasting too which I think has helped curb my cravings.

Yes, my appetite has been okay the last couple of days since I made more effort. If I eat bread or cereal, I end up starving. Carbs must be really bad. I think it's the release of insulin that stimulates the appetite.

I'm a bit confused about fat as well, but have been eating it as long as it's not the processed type. It feels weird eating it as we've had it banged into us for so long that fat is bad.

Knowing what to eat is hard work isn't it?

Sounds like you'd enjoy the Low Carb Boot Camp (which is a separate topic) as it's HFLC. As well as loads of other people following this way of eating and providing support to each other, there are also loads of recipe threads pinned to the top of the topic for inspiration Smile

@prettybird Ooo thanks - I'll take a look now.

I'm half a stone down already. I started this journey Mon 17th June at 11st 13 and today I am 11st 5 - I know it doesn't sound a lot but its the most consistent my weight loss has been in what feels like years.

Where can I find this Bootcamp thread?

I couldn't link before as I was on the app but I'm now at my laptop.

Here is a link to the current Boot Camp thread: we're in the last week of the 10 week Boot Camp but we'll be continuing on as a support group until the next one (which will probably be in October). In the OP, you'll find a link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness, in which you will find The Rules and lots of other resources.
