Cubes of cheese and slices of cucumber.

UnderPompeii · 18/06/2019 22:14

Thank you. I just remembered that M&S do snack pots of chorizo wrapped around manchego (I think) cheese, I wonder if I could recreate at homeHmm

Slice of ham, slice of cheese (lidl ready sliced) rolled up with a couple of cherry tomatoes

If you're getting hungry mid-afternoon, that suggests that you're not eating enough fat. Low carbing means high fat!

Surfingtheweb · 18/06/2019 22:33

You can buy individual pots of fat free Greek yoghurt or quark, Chuck in a few nuts and a spoon of honey. Loads of protein so it fills you up and no fat or added sugar.

Slices of red pepper, carrots & a few olives with a spoon of humus or nut butter.

Boiled eggs

Salad with tuna & mayo or smoked salmon or chicken

Rice cakes

Great ideas thanks. I hadn't thought about yoghurt Surfing, thanks.
BIWI I have followed your threads and am in awe of your commitment to low carbing and the knowledge and guidance you give to others. However I am a light weight low carber, just trying to cut out bread, chocolate and general crap from my diet, and find some healthier options Smile

Pork crackling, boiled eggs, cubes of cheese, Cheesies (I have a 20% code just dm me), cold meats, prawns, olives, almond butter, nuts (pecans, almonds, brazil nuts, macadamias) and seeds. M&S are really good for all these things. You could also try your hand at keto baking. Keto brownies are easy and freezable in single portions to defrost by 4pm.

I would try and add more protein and fat to your lunch and you will stay fuller till dinnertime. If you are having a salad, add seeds, cheese, oils to it etc.

I like to get a stalk of celery and fill it with cream cheese (full fat!) for a savoury snack or nut butter for a sweeter snack. Sprinkle with seeds for even more yum.

LeslieKnopeforPM · 18/06/2019 22:53

Just further to surfings post, they all sound like good/healthy snacks but the fat free yoghurt, honey, hummus and rice cakes are not what I would eat on a specifically low carb diet.

BIWI · 19/06/2019 11:31

... just coming here to post that @LeslieKnopeforPM!

@UnderPompeii a good move overall, but try eating more protein/fat at your meals and that really will help keep the hunger pangs at bay!

UnderPompeii · 19/06/2019 13:23

Thank you BIWI
