It’s my last day is eating and drinking crap. Starting Whole30 tomorrow, anyone want to join me? Hoping for 50lbs off this year!

I just had a look at the program. I’d fall off the wagon in a week with something that restrictive. Have you done it before?

MrsGloop · 01/01/2018 15:02

I haven’t but a few friends have, with great success. I think hardcore might work for me - “making little changes” never does

I've started today so I'll join you! Don't know anyone who has done this so all support gratefully received. Tonight we've had lasagne - I had the meat with a jacket pot, quite straightforward. Not sure what to have for breakfasts, especially before 7am gym sessions.
My husband and daughter are tucking in to selection boxes right now, sods!!!

I'm going to start next week as have my DD's birthday and too much party food around! Also need some time to plan. Good luck. I've never done it before but a friend of mine swears by it.

BerylStreep · 01/01/2018 22:36

I'm doing it. Have done several before and it is awesome. I'm combining it with low carb because whilst potatoes are allowed, my metabolism just can't cope with excessive carbs.

Luxembourgmama · 03/01/2018 14:21

I started yesterday. My diet wasn't too bad before so i'm not finding it too tough but i had feck all energy for my workout today. Any of you guys doing weight training?

MrsGloop · 03/01/2018 18:13

I do weight training 2x a week and cardio 3x a week. Although as I am constantly crunched for time (I work out at 5:30 before everyone in the house is awake) I actually have considered reducing my workout time and spending more time on meal prep.

fair play mrsgloop do you eat before? Do you've a home gym? Thats my goal when we move into our house.

I'm struggling to find the right pregym snack. Whole30 says half an avocado or a boiled egg which didn't really do the trick the way my usual banana and peanut butter does.

MissSmiley · 04/01/2018 08:50

I’ve done whole30, it was great. It made my period arrive 8 days early! It has a massive effect on your body. I lost 6lbs in 30 days but was close to my ideal weight anyway.

HuskyMcClusky · 04/01/2018 08:54

I’m also interested in this. I’m not technically overweight, but I’d like to shift some post-Christmas stomach flab. Sad

How much can you realistically lose in 30 days, and how hard is it to stick to? Would love anecdotes.

MrsGloop · 04/01/2018 12:58

I don’t eat before I work out - my classes start at 5:30am. I go to F45, one just opened up by my house a few months ago. Different workouts each time, HIIT. One day cardio, the next strength.

So it’s day 3 and so far I haven’t been hungry, as such, but also not particularly satisfied by anything I eat, you know? Im sure that’s the sugar cravings though. Last night I was pecking and went to rummage in the fridge. Take out the dairy, grains and sugar and what are you left with? I eat a lot of eggs anyway, and didn’t fancy more veg. Which of course tells me that I’m not hungry, but just looking for a quick sugar hit - and is why I’m in this position in the first place!

Eugh i gave in this afternoon and had a whole bloody packet of pork scratchings. I had that listless dizzy feeling again after lunch I obviously hadn't eaten enough. I might need to bring some hard boiled eggs in that i can scoff in the office kitchen if need be. I wonder how long they'd last in the fridge.

BerylStreep · 04/01/2018 16:34

I'm currently having pate with celery sticks for lunch / snack.
