Does anyone suffer from low energy when exercising?

I've been low-ish carbing for about a month now. Going well, lost about half a stone.

I'm not generally a massive exerciser but horse ride, and find that when I'm doing something energetic like XC training I hit a bit of a brick wall and literally have to stop what I'm doing. Which isn't great.

Any advice on what I can do to give me more energy? I have ended up having a couple of slices of toast beforehand but then that cocks up all my diet.

Once you're properly fat-adapted (i.e. you're burning fat for fuel rather than carbs), exercise will become easier. However, if you keep eating toast, you're only stopping this transition!

There's a really good book called The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Performance, by Drs. Volek and Phinny which might be worth a read.

Thank you. I'll have a look at that
