Low carbing - can it raise blood pressure significantly?

I had my BP taken today, first was 130/89 and second 124/97 (20 mins later)
2 months ago I had BP in the normal range but I can't recall exactly what it was. The only things really changed in that time is pregnancy (still very early) and low carbing again.

I'm positive the 2nd was much higher just due to the stress and anxiety but the first I'm a bit worried could be down to low carbing... I was thinking the extra salt intake and more red meat could be the cause? Is that possible for it to raise so much in just 2 months?

I have googled (!) and couldn't find much about it

I hope this is the right place for it, sorry if not. xx

Do you cut sugar down buteo t get why you'd take in extra salt?

White coat syndrome?

Low carb is a great diet as long as you balance with high fat.

I cut out added sugar as much as I could. You need salt to live.

The study that correlated salt intake with high blood pressure was disprooven last year. The original study was flawed. He gave the rats the equivalent of you eating 500g of salt!! You would probably not even reach 10g a day Hmm

Salt doesn't give you high blood pressure. Fat doesn't make you fat.

I low carb and its brought my BP down. On the other hand, 5:2 put it up a lot!

You need more salt on LC as you need to drink more and subsequently pee more.

Sorry - have just seen this. Everything I've read suggests that your blood pressure should go down if you're low carbing.

Ideal bp is 120/80 isn't it, so your Bp isn't massively high anyway I don't think
