Wannabe low carber help please

Looking for some help please. I am addicted to sugar and white bread, am grossly overweight, extremely unhealthy and basically killing myself.

I would like to start low carbing but would like to eat pretty much the same thing every day to take out thought, choice and temptation. Could you have a look at what I propose and advise please?

Breakfast: scrambled eggs

Lunch: spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, sweetcorn, grated cheese, blue cheese dressing, chicken or smoked salmon

Dinner: cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, pork chop/salmon/chicken/other protein, butter on veg.

Thanks in anticipation.

Ditch the cheese, carrots, tomatoes and corn initially.
Good luck!

Could you not vary it a bit? I guess I kind-of see the logic in eliminating thought, choice and temptation, but I suspect you'll be bored as hell very quickly and utterly depressed with it.

Low carbing really isn't that limited at all. It helps to think about all the lovely things you CAN eat rather than what you can't. I'd also try and get into the habit of adding some greens (spinach/salad leaves/broccoli/courgette/cabbage/avocado/whatever) at every meal, including breakfast.

Sweetcorn and beetroot are pretty high carb - I'd avoid.
You probably need to add more fat. Fat should provide more calories than protein, or carbs. Stir coconut milk into coffee etc.

I would read a good book on the subject first, so that you really understand what you are trying to achieve and why, what you should/shouldn't be eating etc. Something like The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living

Breakfast: scrambled eggs

This is perfect low carb food. Just make sure that you make them with plenty of butter.

Lunch: spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, sweetcorn, grated cheese, blue cheese dressing, chicken or smoked salmon

Not brilliant. Beetroot and sweetcorn in particular are very carby. Hopefully the blue cheese dressing is high fat, and not processed? If it's pre-prepared, check the sugar content and make sure it's high fat

Dinner: cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, pork chop/salmon/chicken/other protein, butter on veg.

Carrots are a bit carby as well. Make sure all this has plenty of fat in it

If you try and eat the same thing every day you will quickly get bored, and you won't stick to it. Honestly! The key to success is to make sure that you have a range of foods that you enjoy eating.
