Is it ok to do cardio exercise if you're low carbing?

I heard that you should eat at least so many carbs to do this.

Any advice?

I work out loads, and eat low carb. I run up to about 12k, and I do a mix of long runs and shorter fast/interval ones; I also do weight training in the gym. I have no problems at all - possibly, I could improve my running performance if I ate more carbs, but I am happy with my performance as it is so not bothered.

I'd say it depends on you and your body. It's not true that everyone needs carbs to do cardio, but if you are say training for a marathon and want to beat your PB, then I wouldn't start low carbing now. If you're like me and do it for general fitness, you could just have a go and see how it compares to training on carbs...

I'm another low carb-er who does a shedload of exercise. Since I started low carbing I've taken 17 minutes off my half marathon PB (it was a bit slow to start with) and DH - who eats as I do - did a 3 hour marathon. You may be different but we've found that low carbing has improved our cardio performance, and it makes strength gains when weightlifting pretty awesome too.
