Low carb breakfast that isn't eggs or yoghurt!

I want to start low carbing to finally try to get rid of the baby weight (DS is now a toddler!). But all the breakfast ideas I can find seem to involve eggs or yoghurt, which I don't like! fussy cow any ideas?

Avocado, smoked salmon, asparagus
Scrambled tofu
Smoothie / shake (I have peanut butter and cocoa; you could have berries instead)
Low carb pancakes (google, there are loads of recipes)
Bacon, tomatoes, mushroom
Leftovers from last night (don't worry about it being a "traditional breakfast" food - see the avocado suggestion above!)

Oh wow great suggestions thank you!

I have ground walnut linseed almond cereal. Lovely hot or cold. Add berries to sweeten.

Fourarmsv2 · 06/07/2014 08:21

I have belly pork slices or lamb chops most days.

DearTeddyRobinson · 06/07/2014 10:06

Thanks all Smile. Particularly loving the idea of lamb chops for breakfast!

Linwoods do linseed cereals and they are yummy. I have mine as pudding sometimes but it is great to be able to have a proper cereal in the morning and the carbs in it are 0.96 grams so very very low. They are also amazingly good for you.

Sounds good MillyDots

DearTR - I get mine from Farmfoods - 5 trays of 8 cook from frozen chops for £15! Plus we always get vouchers through the door. I bag them in 3s to save time and halogen oven them as I shower :)

I make MIMS (muffin in a minute) 4tbsp ground linseed, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 egg, splash of almond milk or cream. Microwave for 1.20,cool, slice (usually do it in a wide cereal bowl) top with butter and cream cheese! I have it most days. Very filling! Smile

Ooh gosling that sounds ace!
I have been having smoked salmon for breakfast this week (on special offer at Tesco BTW) which makes me feel very decadent, sort of like the kind of person who has a yacht or something!

I have a cream and coffee shake. Sometimes with some cocoa powder and stevia. Whizz up in blender with ice.

Continental cheeses and ham

quirkychick · 14/07/2014 17:28

Ham and melon
ham and avocado
"I quit sugar" has a choco muffin that you make in the microwave with ground almonds, coconut, cocoa powder, rice malt syrup and coconut milk. You can cut out the coconut if you don't like it.
