So day three today. Not feeling too bad physically but still having fleeting thoughts of cake crisps and bowls of cereal. It's going to be a particularly difficult few days DH is off work so we will be having some days out and there will be all manner of temptations (did I hear you say sugar donuts Wink)

Sounds good Sharon. Have you started a "blog" about it other than Mumsnet?

dwinnol · 17/04/2014 16:28

I've just done 7 weeks of Atkins style diet (I actually followed the Idiot Proof Diet which India Knight wrote a book about) and lost 1 stone 9lbs. I'm off it the next few days as we are away camping but I'd suggest you go for the cheese course whenever pud is mentioned and look away if anyone is scoffing ice cream. If you cheat you completed ruin it. Good luck. I've found it a great way to shift a bit of weight and I'll be back on it post-Easter.

dwinnol · 17/04/2014 16:28

Oh and gin and vodka. No carbs in those. WineThank goodness!

JemimaJones · 17/04/2014 16:48

I have that book dwinnol. I might dig it out and have a look. Well done on the 1stone 9lb weight loss. If you come off it for a few days you may gain around 5lbs back but hopefully it will come off quickly. Have a lovely camping trip.

Yes jemima. I'm not weighing for a while. Confused

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 18/04/2014 10:51

No Jemima I've no idea how to!
So day 4 today. I feel good physically. I am craving a bowl of cereal like never before though! Grr!!!
To be honest I've been eating like a queen, had some lovely meals. My super tight nightie feels looser and more comfy but I've avoided the temptation of the scales thus far

Day five feeling a bit fed up today. Accidentally asked for a coffee with one sugar when at the hairdresser! Arggghh! Otherwise stuck to it quite well. Just feeling a bit bored and low

How you doing Sharon? X

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 23/04/2014 19:20

I've lost 7 pounds in a week! Despite caving and eating some choc Sunday which I won't be doing again as I woke up vomiting

Fab, I'm just finishing day 2, deffo cravings, not bad but they are there. All the Easter choc doesn't help. High 5 for doing it over Easter hols, that is dedication Envy

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 23/04/2014 22:41

I just figured even if I did cheat then it's better to have started then put it off a few more days where I'd have just been eating junk.
Cravings deffo go, for me it's more like wanting a cake or something when I go up town for coffee so more of a habit thing iykwim

I've hit a stumbling block and don't know what to do. I've been vomiting a lot and have totally lost my appetite I'm thinking of coming off this as it seems to be negatively effecting me Sad

Vomiting isn't good - obviously! But I've also not heard of this being a side effect of Atkins.

Can you list out for me what you've been eating over the last few days? Perhaps I can help identify what the problem might be?
