Gentle low carb - any one else?

I am making a few lower-carb substitutes in my diet and going to see if that makes any difference to my weight/appearance.

Is anyone else interested in joining me?

So far I have been:

having scrambled egg at breakfast rather than porridge
trying to eat more salads rather than sandwiches
cutting down the amount of bread I eat

I have been doing this for a week or so and think that my stomach is already a bit flatter.

Hi Branching, I'll join you!
Started low-carbing yesterday. I'm planning to do similar to you. I've decided to cut down a lot on carbs, cut out rubbish (I was eating loads of sugar and bread/pasta) and up my fruit/veg and water intake.
I woke up with a blinding headache this morning - probably the result of a day (yes just one day) without refined sugar Blush

Have you got a goal in mind?
I've got a party in 5 weeks where my ex will be there with his girlfriend (OW) and she's very slim...
I need to shift 3 stone but I'll be happy if I get a stone off by then. I'm also ordering the 30 day shred tonight...

My goal is not to buy any more bigger clothes...and to fit into my summer clothes again this year!

V unambitious.

Well I've got a load of size 10 & 12 clothes that don't go near me at the moment.
I'm a size 16 now and it's got to change. I'm bigger now than when I was 9 months pregnant...

Are you exercising as well?

BranchingOut · 12/02/2014 09:59

No exercise here! But I do walk to the station and try not to use car too much.

Scrambled eggs this morning and feel lovely and full.

I'll join you if that's okay. Been low carbing for a week or so now, with a day off on Saturdays. However, mood wise, I've been a complete bitch. Anyone else had this? Feel very on edge, teary and angry. Not sure whether it's the low carbs or PMT. Anyone else had this? I want to be slimmer but not at the expense of my relationships.

I will join too if that's ok.
I am going on holiday in April and I don't want to look pregnant in my swimming costume.
I am trying to do an all round healthy eating and lifestyle thing, but I know I eat way too many carbs.
I had toast and peanut butter for breakfast this morning
Ham and egg salad for lunch today.
Pork chops with root veg mash for dinner tonight.
Does that count as low ish or a reasonable amount of carbs ? I know I had toast but is it ok to have the odd bit if it's balanced throughout the day ?
I am going to make lots of soup over the next few days, I am going to have it with out huge chunks of tiger bread. Or try to.

BranchingOut · 13/02/2014 16:56

I think that sounds ok, though am never a fan of ham as a diet food.

Intrigued by tiger bread, what is that?

I am trying to work on a principle of 'good driving out the bad' by eating more protein in the hope that it will make me less hungry for carbs.

tiger bread.
