Low-carb diets

10 days on Dukan - only 1lb down?!

Anyone else doing / has done Dukan who can help here?? I did 5 days protein and have now reintroduced veg, am eating small meals, doing exercise etc, but no weight is coming off at all!!!
Last time I lost weight I did it by basically doing a fruit and muesli diet which was obviously basically pure carbs but the lbs just came off - cannot understand my body :(

I have no time for Dukan, personally. It's not really low carb, and it's low fat - you need to be low carb/high fat. Come and join us on Bootcamp!

I actually disagree. I did the Dukan diet last year and lost 6st steadily at an average of 3lb per week. I did walk every night just for the 30 mins it recommends and skipped the odd one if weather was really bad but it did work well for me. I have to say I can't tell you what I lost in first week as I didn't weigh myself for a month as I didn't want to be disappointed if I'd done everything to the letter and not lost or only lost a little. I lost 1st 1lb in that first month so that gave me the boost i needed to carry on. There were a couple of weeks where I only lost 1lb and I was disappointed but the following week it would be 4 or 5lb so I'd give it another couple of weeks. Make sure you are eating enough, drinking plenty and having your oatbran. Good luck with whatever you decide Smile
