Side effects of starting paleo diet?

Hi there.
I am about 48 hours in to eating Paleo. I'm not trying to go too low carb to begin with ( I can suffer easily from low blood sugar) so I'm eating as much sweet potato/parsnip/carrot etc as I feel I want ( don't think it is excessive though) and also allowing fruit too. I'm experiencing the following:

Good "symptoms"
Not feeling as hungry as I would normally
No bouts of low blood sugar even when delaying a meal
Weight loss of half a pound!

Less good "symptoms"
My stomach seems (even) bigger than usual - but a more "relaxed" enlargement than I'd normally feel if bloated.
More thirsty than usual
Massive sugar cravings (although not actually low blood sugar - I can tell the difference!)
Finding some tasks more difficult ( eg making lots more typos than usual writing this!)
Worsening of pain in soft tissue of hip ( I have damage to this area and am waiting for surgery to repair this)
Worsening of Fibro symptoms ( this is the killer for me). I have fibromyalgia so usually feel achy and with little energy, but this seems to be worsening.
The increase of pain (both hip and general aching) made it hard to sleep last night.
I want to keep going with the diet but I'm conscious that I will start back at work next week and if the fibro symptoms get much worse it is going to be really hard to keep going energy-wise.

I've read up a little about "low carb flu" but to be honest, don't feel I've gone massively low carb ( though of course the proportion of carb/protein/fat has changed and I was on a very unhealthy carb/sugar rich diet before).

Is there anyone else who started Paleo and experienced similar. Did anything help? Anyone there with Fibro who is on Paleo - did your fibro get worse? How long did it take to get better? What are the best things I can do to alleviate symptoms?

The only one of those I can comment on is feeling thirsty- you do need to drink more. Just go with it.
It can take a while to adjust to a change in feet so I would give it another few days to settle in.

Change

Change in feet!?!
Diet.

A change in feet would be drastic.

Fruit can make some people feel bloated. Perhaps have more sweet potato and no fruit or dried fruit and add a lot more fat like butter on top of veg.

Sugar cravings are probably pretty normal at first and should go. I haven't ever felt pain with carbflu - have had headaches, tiredness and weird taste in mouth but I guess everyone experiences it differently. You could try paracetemol maybe? Hopefuly you will be feeling better by the time you have work.

maybe as you have a medical condition you should be extra cautious and cut back on things more gradually? Have you eaten something you wouldn't normally eat much of that might be having an affect, lots of nightshade veg or nuts or eggs? I guess another thing is it could be coincidence. Might sound silly but have you done any exercise you have forgotten about like extra housework or something that might have made you feel more achey...taken down the christmas tree maybe? I remeber in the summer feeling really achey and not understanding why as I hadn't done any exercising, then realising it must be from some serious 6ft weed pulling up I had done the day before Grin

I think actual pain isn't a good sign.

I always feeling beating my chest and going for a 10 mile run on this diet! I feel great on it!
