Aiming to drink the 3 litres, but also battling a diet coke addiction! I find sparkling water an excellent alternative.

Can someone explain why you can't have diet coke when low carbing? X

diet coke contains citric acid which is known to cause higher blood sugars. There is also some evidence that artificial sweeteners can cause more hunger and increase your blood sugars.

Coke Zero does not contain citric acid - but in my opinion, the whole point of low carbing is to eat fresh ingredients (as the body is designed to do) not to have overly manufactured crap foods.

Give your body a break from diet coke and see how much better you will feel.
