Hi all. I don't really need to lose weight (well maybe about 4-6lbs). But i am feeling sluggish and bloated all the time (sometimes after i eat i look pregnant). I also am ageing rapidly so want to look a bit better with foods such as nuts, Salmon, avocado, etc.

The problem is i don't really know where to begin with Low Carbing and what the rules are. I also need recipes i can adapt for others to have carbs.

Is there a website or book i can get which will explain it all?

Oh yes, and most importantly, can i still drink wine? (i presume beer is out Sad )

Ta :)

[[http://www.amazon.com/New-Atkins-You-Ultimate-Shedding/dp/1439190275 New Atkins For A New You] is the one you want for proper, weight-loss oriented low carb.

However, if you don't really have weight to lose, i would very highly recommend The Primal Blueprint for a more well-rounded education in why the standard Western diet is so bloody terrible for the human body.

Atkins is all about losing weight only (pretty much), while a Primal/Paleo approach focuses more on 'natural foods' and avoiding things like artificial sweeteners and vegetable seed oils which are, according to Atkins, perfectly fine (except they're not)

I would recommend Primal/Paleo over basic low-carb. You can make a Primal diet as low-carb as you like anyway, and you get the benefit of a more 'healing the body' focus that Atkins doesn't deal with at all.

Good luck! Low carb in general is great. You won't know yourself after a few months!

I was thinking of doing the bootcamp but it appears i have missed it. It may be a bit strict for my needs as well.
