I think I've had a major non-scale victory

So, as long as I can remember I've had what looks like a dirty neck, with darkened skin in the creases of my neck and round the back of my neck. (I have dark skin so the darkened skin was almost black). I used to try all manner of products to get rid of it, to no avail, to the extent that I even wore a high-necked wedding dress. Today I've just realised that after 4 months of low carbing, it has significantly lightened! Just been looking up to see if the two are related and apparently the neck can be a symptom of insulin resistance and a pre-diabetic stage, so it seems they are related. I'm over the moon because it shows that even though my weight loss isn't the speediest and I'm still very obese and have a long way to go, I must have made a positive difference to my health.

Thank you - I am really delighted because my motivation for this diet is only partly appearance; a huge part of it for me is improving my health after the wake up call of an awful pregnancy (dangerously high bp, gestational diabetes, the works). I can see the fat loss happening by my clothes, but it's just so great to have this indication that my health is improving.
