OK so I know we?re meant to be weaning ourselves away from sweet things but I know it helps me stick to the straight and narrow if I can have something sweet during the day. Anyway, I?ve found some sugar free sweets in M&S that believe it or not actually contain fat!!! They use sugar alcohols (isomalt & sucralose) so do have a laxative effect if you eat too many but they are very tasty and don?t seem to have too many dodgy ingredients. So far I?ve tried 3 flavours: rhubarb & custard which is made unsalted butter and has 4.5g fat/100g, butterscotch which is made with butter & cream and comes in at 8.5g fat/100g and also strawberries & cream but I don?t have that one with me so not sure of the stats but it?s similar. I do remember seeing another one when I was in there (but didn?t buy at the time) of another flavour that was made with coconut oil. The butterscotch one seems to have the least ingredients: isomalt, sucralose, cream, butter, vanilla flavouring, salt, emulsifier, soya lecithin, colour (plain caramel). They are rather tasty
.
I thought others might find these helpful for when they fancy something sweet but without derailing too much.
