Jan ’26 Low Carb Bootcamp - week 3 - full-on, light or hybrid?

BIWI · 19/01/2026 07:37

Morning all!

Spreadsheet as per:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gsWvWpGzTSJld1avBi9-uLJveFZes9Qa2ORKthPMl8E/edit?gid=1415293539#gid=1415293539

So as I posted in the last thread, you now have a choice. You can move on to Bootcamp Light, which means you can add in:

Some nuts and seeds
Some fruit - mainly berries
Some chocolate - 70% cocoa (and higher)
Some alcohol - clear spirits and sugar-free mixers, dry white/red wine.

all in moderation and not at every meal time! Try to avoid the sugar-free mixers as much as you can, if you’re drinking spirits, given how artificial they are.

You can stay on full-on Bootcamp if you want to, or if you feel you’ve been slipping a bit too much recently - as long as you make sure you’re eating plenty of vegetables and salad, for good nutrition. You may, though, want to consider a hybrid - Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

It’s up to you.

Just remember though, that weeks 3 & 4 are infamous! It’s not at all unusual to see weight loss slow or stop. If this happens to you, don’t panic but just KOKO.

Good luck to us all Flowers

Morning BIWI and all campers, thanks for the new thread. Just over 3lbs down, so over half a stone in total and now under 14st which is a significant milestone and psychological breakthrough for me. Planning evening meals has been key to success and I’ve got this week planned out and shopped for. Also keeping an eye on the longer term goal - a lower blood sugar result at my next test in April. I am planning to keep going until then and to do full Bootcamp four days during the week and light 3 days at the weekend. Wishing you all a good week ahead and may you drink all the water! 💦

RightTurnClyde · 19/01/2026 07:56

Thanks @BIWI

Well done on getting under the 150lb mark @teamtoebeans that's my immediate goal but I'm still 7lb away.

I've lost another 2.5 this week which I'm very happy with considering how much delicious food I've eaten. I'm trying not to lose track by remembering that although I've lost nearly 1/2 stone and feel miles better (and my trousers fit more comfortably) they are still my emergency fat trousers largest trousers, and I must stay focused if I want to get back into my normal ones!

Busy day with lots if travelling today so must try to keep up the water.

KellyWithABigBelly · 19/01/2026 07:58

4lbs off for me this week. I’m pleased with that. I’m going to use ground almonds in a few recipes but other than that stick to normal Bootcamp this week.

Rayna37 · 19/01/2026 08:33

Another two lbs this week which is satisfying as I got my lowest weight from last week again this morning: often I go down Monday to Thursday but see slight increases again Fri to Sun. I’m also firmly beneath 130lbs which is (certainly used to be) a real red line for me. Next goal, under 9 stone by next week.

I will incorporate some of the bootcamp light elements but aim to keep everything in “moderation”. DH is off today so I may repeat my low carb waffle triumph as he was out on Saturday!

SemmaLina · 19/01/2026 08:46

No change this week , which is annoying , but at least there wasn’t any weight put on
I’ll be adding a few nuts and berries to breakfast , but keeping off the wine for another couple of weeks , I’m surprised and actually quite pleased that I’m not missing my glass of white while I make the gravy with a Sunday roast !

Jumperorcardi · 19/01/2026 08:52

Morning another 2.5lbs off for me so 6lbs in total and clothes are starting to feel better, but definitely nothing looking too big 😂.
My goal is to get to a BMI of 25, which is another 10lbs, it is definitely doable if I keep to Bootcamp with a touch of light bootcamp. For me that means that I have a teaspoon of Linwoods cold milled Flaxseed, Pumpkin & Sunflower seeds on my greek yogurt with about 6 raspberries. Will then stick to bootcamp as closely as possible and if I have had a good day, have 1 square of dark chocolate with my herbal tea. I have realised that I need to set my boundaries for light in place to ensure I don’t stray too far from bootcamp.
I am away for a week skiing from the end of the week and am going to try to keep going with bootcamp as much as possible, will let you know how it goes. We are self catering, so breakfast is in my control. There are lots of options for omelettes, quiche (wont eat the pastry) and cheese/ham charcuterie on the mountain for lunch and we can have a mix of dinner in, as well as dinner out in the evenings.

Here’s to week 3

Jumperorcardi · 19/01/2026 08:58

Also apologies I forgot to say thank you @BIWI for thread no 3

CrawlingFromShitshowToAfterglow · 19/01/2026 09:12

Thanks @BIWI for this new thread. I have really struggled over the past week. But that just shows how many carbs and sugar I had in my diet to begin with! I forgot to weigh myself this morning as I left for work super early. I'll weigh-in tomorrow.

I'm going to go hybrid this week - nuts and berries, but no chocolate or alcohol!

Separately, are these noodles okay to have: www.barenakedfoods.co.uk/products/noodles/

BIWI · 19/01/2026 09:16

@CrawlingFromShitshowToAfterglow those noodles are perfect.

(NB I have posted about them already!)

Thanks @BIWI, 1lb down this week, which is fine as I slipped a couple of times last week, my impulse control is poor around food and I find it really hard when lovely carby things are put in front of me even if I'm not particularly hungry. Also finding time to cook from scratch around exercise in the evenings and relying on "grazing plates" a bit much. So I'm going with a few nuts, seeds and berries but no chocolate or alcohol.

Thesoundofmusic23 · 19/01/2026 09:51

A very small gain because of my difficult week. On bootcamp light now but hoping to maintain or loose a little bit more before the end of bootcamp. Working on overall fitness and body shape too. Looking forward to more inspiration for recipes here this week. Have a good week everyone.

CointreauVersial · 19/01/2026 10:24

Well, i weighed myself on Friday, and was another 2lbs down, but woke up today feeling a bit puffy and bloated. Surprise surprise, I'm back to the same weight as last Monday, so I am reporting no loss this week. I think the weekend away threw things out a little - even though I did go for sensible food choices in restaurants it always throws my digestion into a bit of turmoil not being in my usual routine.

I'm not worried.... I trust the process. Will probably add a few berries and seeds this week, and see how we go.

Sunnysideuptoday · 19/01/2026 10:35

Thank you @BIWI. Morning all! 1.5 loss for me this week. I had to go away suddenly last week and did not have time to prepare food etc so I'm pleased, but, mixed with a little gutted that I couldn't keep up with healthier eating. It was a case of grab anything low carb. I'm going to aim to stick to strict bootcamp this week as well and get some food ready in case I need to go away again. One thing I will say is my head seems less foggy and I'm on more of an even keel with hunger pangs, even though life is quite stressful. Everything is going in the right direction...down! Hope everyone else has had a good week, and here's to week three.

cathyandclaire · 19/01/2026 10:54

Morning all and well done to the losers. I've put on 6lb overnight- without eating anything! I'm assuming it's my scales ( I have two sets because away in the week for work) because I feel ok, not bloated and I'm still definitely in good going ketosis. I do have soreness from weights- but surely not that much fluid in my weedy muscles.
I'm koko and putting in my weight from yesterday (1.5 lb down). I will stick to the same scales from now on and post my Sunday weight - that should stop me misbehaving on Saturday nights too!

GreenRedBlue · 19/01/2026 11:12

Morning all, 1.3lb loss for me which I'm pleased with given the wedding weekend and also feeling extra bloated today as I'm due to come on any minute. I'm still going to introduce a few seeds/berries into my breakfast as I just cannot eat plain FFGY without gagging 🙈Have been suffering from headaches - dont know if that is because of BC or other health issues I'm currently looking into. But otherwise plan to keep going!

tinyspiny · 19/01/2026 11:21

3lb down for me but I’ve now tipped under the 12 stone which is where it generally starts to stall , I’m tall and look ok but would be happier under 11 stone . I shall stay more or less on proper boot camp as I’m teetotal anyway , don’t care about chocolate and only eat berries in season . I’ve changed to having cream in my coffee which has been a revelation . Thanks @BIWI for running this.

DryWhiteagainW · 19/01/2026 12:38

Thank you for the new thread BIWI.
weight not changed but I remember from last time it plateaus for a couple of weeks so I’m sticking to strict boot camp for now

Alwaysploddingon · 19/01/2026 12:43

Thanks @BIWI I have not taken it so seriously this week so unsurprisingly have not lost weight, but not gained either...my downfall was once I'd had a bit of something sweet, eg one tiny chocolate. I thought f it and haven't really committed again. I haven't had bread or pasta though which used to be a staple. But have had cake, which is much less healthy. Now I've written it, starting again and I will do full bootcamp rules for at least another week.

venusandmars · 19/01/2026 13:13

Thanks @BIWI for the new thread - you must have been up early! - and for your continued guidance and encouragement.

I'll go a bit lighter on some days - frozen berries and seed/nut mix with chia a couple of times a week. I'm also going back to intermittent fasting, since that works well for me on this woe. Just water and herbal teas untill about 11, when a coffee with cream keeps me going. Just about to have lunch now.

L - lots of salad with egg mayo and tuna. I find these are just perfect - although some of the flavours have more sugar in them.
D - peppers stuffed with lamb mince and veg, topped with grilled haloumi, side of broccoli.

My friend's husband has a huge garden and green house and he is very keen on pickling the excess and gifting it to friends. I ended up with a few half used jars of confit tomatoes, pickled capers, olives, garlic etc in the fridge so I blitzed them all up together and put the mix in a fesh sterilized jar. It keeps in the fridge perfectly. Yesterday for my pepper stuffing I fried a shallot, added garlic, celery, chilli and the mince, then a couple of big spoonfuls of the vegetable mix. It was salty and sharp and no other seasoning was needed. Then I remembered I had some left over cooked cabbage in the fridge so I added that too. Roll on dinner!

Infusions Tuna Basil

No prep, more reps. Ready in seconds, our no-drain classic tuna with basil-infused extra virgin olive is the perfect pre-workout power-up. It’s also a firm family favourite!

Thanks @venusandmars - yes, sadly awake from around 5.30 because of bastard DH’s snoring!

Oh also, everyone - don’t forget that if you want to now, you don’t have to eat breakfast.

TheOnlyMrsW · 19/01/2026 14:15

Hi all, had a very uncompliant weekend but was hoping that the steps would have counteracted some of it (21k between Friday & Saturday) and the scales showed another loss at 4am which I was really pleased with 😊. But 4 hours later there was a difference of 5lbs upwards which is v confusing so I'll weigh again tomorrow and use that for the spreadsheet (suspect it will be the higher one but starting again today with good intentions).

Sounds like there are difficult times for a few people Flowers for everyone going through it

mumsandaunties · 19/01/2026 14:31

Ooh, right…not having to eat breakfast is handy as I neither want nor need it. I’ve been having creamy coffee as my breakfast of choice as that’s all I could be bothered with.

@venusandmars suggestion of a bootcamp lite/ intermittent fasting combo might be a good idea for the next couple of weeks, as I know the scales are about to slow down.
Although as @CointreauVersial says, I’ve got to trust the process. I’m nearly 10lbs down in two weeks, and though I know a lot of that is water weight and Christmas choc, I’m sticking with it.

Almahart · 19/01/2026 14:38

Back on my usual name thank goodness. No losses here, I think due to a medication that I am taking and am gradually reducing.

However, I have had SO much energy, it has been absolutely incredible. I really want to make this woe embedded in my life now, rather than doing BC and going back to old habits. Very inspired!

zobalina77 · 19/01/2026 16:07

Just 1lb off this week. Could someone update the spreadsheet for me?

I've added a few raspberries to my greek yogurt for breakfast today. Don't think I'll change anything else at the moment as I'm enjoying not being hungry all the time and don't want to jinx it!
