Welcome to the first Low Carb Bootcamp of 2026 - and Happy New Year to us all Flowers

Each week, every Monday, I’ll start a new chat thread, with a link to the spreadsheet. But I wanted to start this one a little bit earlier, so that I could post some prep stuff - either as a reminder, if you’ve Bootcamped before, or as key information if you haven’t.

If you haven’t Bootcamped before, and things aren’t very clear, then the FAQ thread should be helpful:

But please ask any questions on the threads - or PM me if you’d prefer.

The very lovely @FinallyHere is working on the spreadsheet in preparation for Monday. You don’t have to be on it, so either message me/her to ask to be removed, or simply ignore your row!

To make sure everyone who has signed up has seen this thread, I’m going to tag you all - in batches of 10 because sometimes it doesn’t work if you try to do everyone at the same time.

This thread is about the most often asked questions on Bootcamp, and/or about low carbing. Each post will deal with a separate question. If there'...

I’ve had a huge loss of 6.9lbs. I do have a lot to lose and I think this numbers inflated because of my periods.

very happy though. I am sure the loss won’t be as high this week but ah well.

breakfast : greek yoghurt + chia seeds

planned dinners
Lunch : eggs + turkey ham + cheese and half an avocado (or maybe a side salad)

Dinner: Salmon curry with cauliflower rice and a side salad

i have the same breakfast and lunch everyday 😅

2lb off for me, which I'm pleased about as I have deviated a little over the weekend. On Friday I was booked to give blood at 5, I was out for lunch with DD and had a smoked salmon salad (which felt very virtuous as she was having an egg and bacon butty). But come later afternoon despite gallons of water I felt starving and had some toast before donating. I have felt dizzy in the past through not eating enough and they have told me that if it happens again I will no longer be allowed to donate, which would be devastating and I can't risk that. I also know from past experience that my body kicks in and out of ketosis fairly easily so it wouldn't be a massive issue in that sense, the bigger danger is in the mind, that you start thinking a little bit won't hurt. I haven't been brilliant over the weekend in the sense of too much cheese and not enough veg, not enough water, I find it much harder at home than in the office where I can only eat what I take in. Anyway, fridge is fully re-stocked with green veg and ready to go from tonight, I'm at work with FFGY breakfast and an egg mayo salad for lunch. I was also good at the cinema last night and took a creamy coffee in my thermal mug and no popcorn or other nibbles. I like the look of the laksa too, we had salmon last night but might try it with chicken or prawns.

Anyone else struggling with carb cravings today?!!! It's so strange, I'm full (following eggs and avocado for lunch) and can't face eating more protein/veg but oh my, how I long for a biscuit!!!! Trying herbal tea with limited success... Maybe today is just one of those days I need to muddle through. Hope your are all doing marvellously!
