Summer 25 Boot Camp Week 6: reaching the final straight

Here we are in Week 6 Smile Hopefully you’ll have got beyond the doldrums but if you haven’t, or if you have had some slippage, there is still time to re-focus and see some results. Maybe think about going back on to strict Boot Camp if you feel that you’ve allowed yourself to relax a bit too much.

Sorry I wasn’t around so much last week: we’re off a week on Thursday and we’ve been trying to catch up on things before we go. That’s also meant a little bit of lack of focus on my part Blush so I too will be re-focussing Grin

Ds’ birthday is on Wednesday and I have to make him a “Back to the Future” cake Shock as his gf is doing him a whole “Back to the Future” Day finishing with a marathon viewing of the 3 movies.

I've added to th spreadsheet. 6lbs on since I last weighed isn't very pretty so time to get back on bootcamp and really watch my portion sizes.

0.8 of a pound down this week. We're going away on Friday, so it will be a hard push before then - all the water, no alcohol, no snacking, and nothing too carby creeping in.

I don't plan to relax too much while I'm away, and will hopefully be pretty active - lots of walking.

I'm back to my starting weight 😭
Had a slice of cake last week and it kicked off my sugar cravings, I've been a glutton all week.
Really cross with myself.

Hardly surprising I’m STILL 155lbs - been static since week 2. I weigh daily and every Wednesday/Thursday I’m 153.4 (yes, exactly that number mid week) but every weekend there’s an event / dinner etc. I guess it’d be worse if I wasn’t doing this. I’m not suprised it’s up as there were 7 courses on Fri night, plus a wine flight plus cocktails & I even had some bread - it was black garlic focaccia and to die for (I’m usually really not bothered by bread but this was heavenly!) I take a big stick thrashing as I’d already decided it was a very special occasion so I was making the most of it. Then I was out for lunch on Friday - Caesar salad and shared one bottle of wine between 3 of us. And drank copious amounts of water! So no surprises that there’s a couple of pounds on.
Lunch today was left over chicken curry & veggies (a big portion bc I was ravenous). Played an hour of tennis and an hour dog walk. Dinner will be chicken fajitas (lettuce wraps). Need to up the water.

Another no moving week for me too. Feeling very deflated. Will this ever pick up? I'm going to give it another week. Sigh.

+0.4lbs for me, I'm reminding myself that while it's not significant in the scheme of things, it could be an indicator that I should take a look at my portion sizes.

For example, this week's shopping basket included an albeit low carb 1.7g/100g treat "Dry cured pork sausage with PDO Perigord walnut"

The whole salami was over 200g, DH is not keen and yet, and yet, the whole thing has disappeared four days after the delivery. If only we had a dog I could blame. Reminding myself how i feel which i don't keep on keeping on, especially this close to my target, when eating for fun rather than to my appetite doesn't get me the results I'm looking for.

@FinallyHere four DAYS!!! That yummy saucusson lasted 4 DAYS? That’s forever. It’d have been in one sitting with me. I don’t thing 200g is that much.

I had an unexpected dinner out yesterday because I messed up the times of a gig we were going to. I thought it started at 7pm. Turns out that was when the doors opened and the main act didn't appear until 8.45pm. (I must be getting old if I imagine things will start at 7pm and be over by 8.30pm in time for an early night! Instead it was after midnight when I got home.

Anyway, we had an improptu dinner at a Lebanese restaurant - fantastic. We shared muhammara (red pepper and walnut dip), lamb kebabs with labneh, chicken thighs in a spicy spinach sauce and cauliflower shwarma. I had one bit of the warm fluffy pitta, and left the rest for dh.

There were so many other things on the menu that were bc compliant (if you ignore the pomegranate) and sounded delicious. I will be going back.

Oooh love Lebanese food and Syrian too. Imad’s in Kingly Court just off Carnaby Street is very good if you’re ever in the area. He’s a refugee who had several restaurants in Syria. He was on the Saturday cooking show too. Hope the gig was good!

I’m just logging in that I’m 153.4 this morning and yesterday. So I’m hoping not to be (as per bloody usual) 155 by Monday 🤞🏼

I’m also delighted to report that I was 11st 7.75lb this morning - and as I hadn’t posted a weight on Monday, I’m going to record that for this week Grin

That means I’m now .75lb less than I was when we last went to South Africa Smile. We leave a week today so I might even manage to get under 11.5 st by then Grin

I have my lovely SIL’s 60th birthday dinner tonight to navigate before then though and I made a “Back to the Future” cake for ds, whose 25th birthday was yesterday and didn’t like the spoon too much while doing so Grin It’s a long time since I’ve made a themed cake for him but his lovely girlfriend was organising a whole “Back to to Future” Day for him and asked me nicely Halo

I was 11st 8lb this morning, despite having some cava last night Smile

Tonight we have (low carb) sausages which I had with French and runner beans from the garden. Dh had his with chips and baked beans - and a glass of wine.

I’m saving my other glass of wine over the weekend for tomorrow night Halo: I will be having Boursin stuffed chicken breasts wrapped in Prosciutto ham.

Not sure I’ve had enough water today - which will be reflected (negatively Hmm) in my weight tomorrow morning.

I tried on a pair of L cream linen trousers again today that I had bought from Amazon. They do fit better now but there is still a bit too much muffin top and the waist is comfortable enough for me to take it with me to SA. I do have two other pairs of line trousers though that I know do fit (bother size 14s): an olive pair and a sort of toned down lim coloured pair.

Morning campers. I’ve just logged my weight and it seems I’ve lost 5lbs this boot camp which is a tadge disappointing but I don’t think I’ve done one full week strictly adhering to the rules. I’ve no dinners or lunches out booked this week so plan to be super strict. I was hoping for 150lbs so need another 3.4lbs off!! I think if I really truly properly tried I could get halfway there!
