Nutrition label confusion

If a label says a figure for carbs but then says 'net carbs' much lower - what do I need to look at?
Eg I just looked at a label that said 37g carbs but 3g net carbs?

Roughly, net carbs equals total carbs minus fibre (as you don’t digest this). Are you sure you have quoted the correct stats for your food in your post? 37g to 3 g is a huge difference. What food is that for?

Only US labels show that. In the UK the carb count is the carb count. As @iamyourequal says, it's the fibre that they include
