Low in carb? Or is there such a thing?

I found 100% peanut butter in Aldi which is 12g per 100g. It is not really LC but better than those with sugar in.

Cashew butter is better!

If you have a look at the "Useful low carb products" thread I recommended Aldi almond butter on there with a bit of info. Peanut (or any nut) butter is OK but it HAS to be one of the 100% nuts brands with no added sugar or palm oil e.g. Meridian or Aldi The Foodie Market. Step away from the Sun-Pat!
Cashew nut butter is delicious but very carby (about 19g/100g), peanut is about 11.5g, with almond and hazlenut about 6.5g/100g so the best choice. Great in full fat greek yogurt.

Sainsbury's Basics peanut butter is only 6.8g carbs per 100g.

But what are you using it for?

sittingonacornflake · 16/06/2019 17:19

Tesco's 100% peanut butter is by FAR the nicest of all the 100% ones I've tried.

BIWI · 16/06/2019 17:44

But how many carbs does it have @sittingonacornflake?

Nelumbo · 16/06/2019 20:01

I use the Meridian one as 100% peanuts and no nasties. I use it quite sparingly though as quite carby

sittingonacornflake · 16/06/2019 20:07

@BIWI I don't have the exact stats to hand but I'm sure you can google. But the ingredients are just.... peanuts.... so I guess the same as.... peanuts!

BIWI · 16/06/2019 20:11

But peanuts are quite high in carbs! Looks like the crunchy version is lower in carbs - 8.3g carbs per 100g, whereas the smooth is 10.9g
