I'm overweight and want to lose 3 stone! I've been interested in keto for some time now just never took the plunge! I have been on diet doctor and they advise to not really count calories which sounds too good! So I want to start it this week and really can't be counting calories every day as I'm a busy working mum so has anyone had success this way ? TIA

Diet doctor have a meal plan you can use to get started. Otherwise you could try the Mumsnet Low Carb Bootcamp starting later this month.

As @StuntNun says, there's a new low carb Bootcamp starting on 14/1 - no calorie counting on there, and no carb counting either! It's been designed specifically to make it easy to follow from that point of view.

Diet Doctor is great. 2 weeks.of mealplans.and all recipes. Loads of ideas. I love this site.

I thought you had to keep it under 20g of carbs ? Confused

When I did Atkins I had to do that - was surprisingly hard for me

BIWI · 13/01/2019 09:13

It's only Atkins that stipulates 20g carbs per day - as far as I'm aware - and that's only for the induction phase.

There is no daily carb limit on Bootcamp!

The whole point of Bootcamp is that people don't have to count carbs (or calories)

Oh right, I've been looking at the diet doctor website and it says less than 50, ideally less than 20. Was thinking about joining the diet doctor website for the recipes (might be quite hard for me as I don't eat meat).

Join the Boot Camp that is starting tomorrow on here and get lots of support and advice Smile

The Rules include the variation for veggies (essentially, nuts allowed in the 1st 2 weeks).

Lots of good veggie recipes in the appropriate pinned thread in this topic Smile

Thanks 🙏

Will definitely be reading it, love veggie recipes

Laurie I'm a veggie too - I think tofu is the tool of Satan, but there's lots of good veggie recipes on the sticky. I have Rose Elliott too, but she uses far too much tofu for my liking Grin
