Quick help/opinions - holiday alcohol related

Hi

I have followed a low carb diet very successfully this year. At home I drink a no carb no sugar wine. I’m on holiday and clearly this doesn’t exist.
I have been sticking to low carb on holiday but drinking wine and cocktails etc. Question I have is there any point in me eating v low carb here when I’m having loads of alcohol??
Thanks

Yes. Keep to low carb alcohol like dry wine, gin or vodka.

It won't knock you out of ketosis but your body will choose to use the alcohol as fuel first rather than (as someone on Boot Camp once memorably described) "dining in" - aka using your own body fat as fuel.

Thanks. I’m 5 days in now drinking way too much but low carb eating and all is good

@feekerry what is this no carb and no sugar wine of which you speak?? Is it nice? Hope you're having a nice holiday

I'm on holiday atm
Low carbing all meals and drinking Aperol spritz, dry wine and gin
Yes it is worth low carbing meals as what would you rather have - a slice of thick crusty bread at breakfast or 2 glasses dry white later?
I might gain a couple of pounds but that's ok

It’s called slimline wine. They do a white, red and sparkling. Zero carbs and sugar, 412 calories a bottle...but... still 11-12 ABV
They have an online shop. It’s new

It's about keeping your carbs as low as possible. If you're already drinking alcoholic wine, and cocktails, then your carbs will be high. No need to push them higher by eating high carb foods!

Thanks @feekerry! I will check it out.
