Blimey... Disappear from MN for a few days and look what happens! A whole new section especially for bootcamp!! Does that make you MN royalty BIWI?

Was sad to see I only weigh 1lb less Than 12 months ago,but DH has pointed out that is intact good as last 8 yrs have seen an extra few pounds with every Xmas that have never ben lost. So feeling ridiculously positive Grin.

Just checking in to say I have weighed, I am enjoying coffee and cream ... And I start a brand shiny new job today as well as resuming this wonderful WOE. All new here so hoping the change will help me kick some habits.

I know the threads will move fast but look forward to checking in tonight.

Good luck everyone!

Where is everyone? SmileSmile

Cbeebijeebies · 13/01/2014 07:14

Excited too Smile

Day 3 for me and feels a little strange but it's so nice not to have been sugar crashing so much my diet was awful before this

FrumpyPumpy · 13/01/2014 07:30

Last night I had a nightmare, felt awful, was horrible. I are fish & chips!!!

SteeleyeStan · 13/01/2014 08:11

Your DH is right OP. It's so easy for that little bit of weight to creep on year after year, especially after the holidays, so you must've done something right. :)

SayraT · 13/01/2014 08:30

TrickyWoo Last night I had a dream that I was judging a cake competition!! I had to eat a bit of all the cakes, when I woke up I was so relieved that it was just a dream! I was gutted in my dream cause I kept thinking as I was tasting all the cakes "oh no what have I done!" :)

Never had a nightmare about eating cake before!!

hopebeyondreason · 13/01/2014 09:54

Ruprect, I suspect folks haven't yet realised we have a whole section to ourselves!

I'm feeling very positive. I'm not aiming for rapid weight loss this time. Have followed that approach on many occasions and, even if I do lose, it goes back on again. I'm looking for a steady sustainable weight loss and a WOE which doesn't feel restrictive.

BIWI · 13/01/2014 13:02

Glad you're so positive! Here's hoping it goes well for us all Flowers

ChippingInWadesIn · 13/01/2014 13:17

ThekitchenFairy your DH is so right. I'm glad you are feeling so positive. I hope the first day in your new job goes well :) I hope you have taken lots of good snacks, water and feel OK. Don't forget (as I do!) it's not a cardinal sin to have some paracetamol if you are feel carb fluey - though you probably haven't been as 'bad' as some of us over Christmas so you might not get the dreaded carb flu!

Sayra - no, we mostly call those dreams Grin Don't worry about the almonds and almond milk this morning, as mistakes go, it really was minor :)

Rup - I wanted to be here first thing, but couldn't be. We must do lunch soon - Crabby too (and anyone else local - when we do I'll put a 'shout out' in this section).

BIWI - what are you hoping to achieve this time? Other than not losing your mind trying to do this and working full time of course Grin x

HolgerDanske · 13/01/2014 14:57

LOL at carby, cakey nightmares Grin

SayraT · 13/01/2014 20:16

Thanks chipping I had actually forgotten that nuts were ok on BC light, I know it was minor and I'm not really worried. Its just I gave myself a sort of motivational talk this morning!

"Right, only two weeks! NO NUTS or BERRIES you can do it"

"Oh shit, I've just had almonds twice this morning!"

I did bootcamp last Jan steeleye, it all went a bit wrong for me over the summer but I have tried to keep an eye on it not all carbs consumed were wine.

chipping in I have a very smug face, I took roiboos tea to drink black and stuffed myself with the most amazing salad. And I did not fall in to the biscuit tin... Starting as I mean to go on Grin but thanks for reminder to pack for tomorrow. I had a weekend of wine and fun and am expecting the flu-sugar-crash tomorrow.

Thank you BIWI for all services to us Low carbers, new and old!

Hope you have all had good days!

TKF - I was a 'planned' Carby Twat over Christmas, it was lovely, but I paid for it last week - nasty carby flu, serves me right! Day 1 was OK, days 3 & 4 not so much! Though there's a virus going around here with similar 'symptoms' so might have been that or a bit of both - who knows. Thankfully seems to have gone now.

How was the new job??

Sayra Grin

BIWI · 13/01/2014 22:26

My aims? To get myself back into low carbing properly! Starting my new job in October has made life a bit more difficult. I haven't quite got used to the transition from being in an office all day as opposed to working from home all day, and being able to a) find stuff in the fridge b) cook stuff.

Local facilities include a Pret A Manger and 3 (!) Sainsbury Locals - but the range of foods actually suitable for low carbing is pretty narrow, and I'm already bored of those! So I have to start planning things a bit better.

And because of all of this, my weight has crept up to a point that I'm seriously unhappy with it. I have been able to tolerate i for a while, but I can feel my clothes getting too tight now! Hopefully the effects of Christmas will disappear relatively quickly ...

ChippingInWadesIn · 13/01/2014 23:14

BIWI - It comes as a bit of a shock to the system to work outside the home again when you have been working from home! I missed how much I could get done in the day (for me/the house & for work!).

It is a bit limiting trying to buy lunch from PAM or S'bo. There's only so much 'ham & cheese' one wants to have really. Nothing tasty.

:( that you are unhappy with your weight, it's not a nice feeling.

I hope the Christmas pounds bugger off quickly for you :)

Remember, that as much as YOU are Bootcamp, you have your own life - don't put yourself under too much stress to be here every spare moment, look after yourself x

BIWI · 15/01/2014 21:40

Thank you Chipping - that is very kind!

ChippingInWadesIn · 15/01/2014 23:45

I'll be keeping my beady eye on you young lady Grin

Day 4 and feeling ridiculously positive. Is this normal?

BIWI · 16/01/2014 12:28

It seems so!

BIWI · 16/01/2014 12:28

It seems so!

BIWI · 16/01/2014 12:29

So positive, I posted it twice Grin

4lbs down for me so far [double grin]

MaeMobley · 16/01/2014 12:48

BIWI, may I also say thank you for organising this? The timing is perfect.

BIWI · 16/01/2014 12:55

It's my pleasure! (I needed to do it too, so not entirely selfless Grin)

trashcanjunkie · 17/01/2014 14:40

Hello everyone it's really great to be here! I am feeling really positive too, and I wanted to share a bit about my self, as this is the first time I've done bootcamp.

I'm 5'10 and currently 17st 4lb (as of last Sunday) which is down on the spreadsheet of fabulousness. I'm 36 and have been on a serious 'diet' once only - when I finished uni at 23 I weighed 16st. I did Atkins for a year and got down to 10.5st. I kept my weight down (even during a twin pregnancy!) until 2009 when I quit smoking and gained 10 stones over two years.... Blush

At 20st I had very painful feet and my fitness was none existent. In 2010 I had to have a hysterectomy and a friend of mine had a serious illness. We decided to get fit together and over the next two years with power walking, and later running I managed to shed 7st, weighing just under 13st. I very stupidly started smoking again on a camping by mistake holiday in may of 2012 and quit in January 2013. I injured my foot at around the same time and yep, you guessed it the weight has shot up again. AAARGH! However, I feel so mentally strong at the minute - my head is completely in the game - I started early on 3rd of January 2014 and my dp is joining me on Monday as he has gained a bit of weight (nothing too drastic) but also I suspect he is wheat sensitive as bread and wheat products make him a terrible farter!

My foot is still fucked (tendon and ligament rupture/ possible surgery) but I must get my weight down, and then my fitness training can resume when I'm mended.

Phew. That was a bit longer than intented! But heeelllloooo anyway!

BIWI · 17/01/2014 19:17

Wow! Welcome, and hello. Very good luck to you and I hope you enjoy Bootcamp, and wish you every success! Flowers
