Teenage drinking....not sure whether more angry with Exp or DS

Is it just me or would anyone else be feeling angry over this? DS went out last night.. on a school night.. with exP after saying they were going to see friend in a band playing locally. DS came home well after miidnight and had clearly been drinking... slurring his words and unable to even walk straight! DS is only 15 and while I'm aware he won't be the only 15 year old to be experimenting with the odd drink I can't believe my exP would so actively encourage this and on a school night too! I'm fuming. I've tried very hard to encourage my son to spend time with his Dad after our break up but exP has set the bar with a no-rules attitude and I no longer seem to be able to keep DS on track. He has exams coming up and I feel so helpless.

could you tlka with your x or is he an unreasonable person?

If its a one off then I would be inclined to simply bite your tongue and save your efforts for bigger battles.

At 15, I was in pubs and I remember one time my mum had to carry me home. If you make a big deal out of it, it just encourages them both even more. It gives your ex a way to annoy you and well....at 15 your son will just do it cos you said no.

Thanks for your comments and your advice. Having fumed about this all day I think biting my tongue is probably the best thing to do. And you're so right about it being a tactic for my ex to annoy me... he has a drink problem himself and knows I feel strongly about the subject. I've talked with DS and hopefully he'll take some of my advice on board.... talking to my ex is sadly a pointless exercise especially when I touch on the subject of alcohol, and I guess I should be thankful that I haven't had to carry my DS home..... yet!!!!!
