Separated, but still wearing my ring....

Keep thinking about taking it off, but haven't quite got round to it yet.

I think I will continue to wear my eternity ring because in my eyes that symbolises our commitment to parent and bring up our beautiful DC together.

But the marriage is over( unless major changes occur) so seriously think I will take that off very soon.

How long did you continue to wear yours for, and what triggered you to finally remove it? If you are still wearing it what are your reasons for doing so? >

I took mine off the day I decided it was over!
Shame really bacause I loved those rings! Most expensive thing I've ever worn!
Maybe one day I'll sell them and treat myself to an eternity ring- from me,to me!

I wore mine until i got a job! As a Lp with 2 small children I didnt think anyone would employ me. It just saved having to answer any questions I didnt want to. Mind you they were a bit surprised to find I didnt have a husband when I started work

I wasn't wearing mine anyway, my fingers swelled when I was pg with ds2 and I kept meaning to get them resized and never got round to it.
Looked at them the other day - quite sad.

Took mine off the day I asked him to leave, I didn't want them on as we weren't together and it would feel like I still wanted him.

I think thats why I haven't got round to taking mine off yet, I just keep thinking about all the lovely times we had together, and I suppose part of me is hoping this isn't the end, but it makes me sad everytime i look at my hand.

i really wish i still had my rings to wear, but my ex hubby took a hammer to them, knowing it would hurt me, but i do stil wear a ring on my wedding finger, as i feel a bit strange being called mrs without a ring, i know that sounds daft, lol.Have been on my own for nearly 2 years now, but i would take him back, as we were together for 17 years, and i guess its better the devil you, hey.?

I keot mine on for about 3 weeks as I worked with year 5 and 6 and thought the gurls would notice as they commented on my eternity ring every now and then. In the end a colleague told them. 2 days later when out with friends I took the rings off and nver put them on again!!! Want to sell my eternity ring (although it's gorgeous!) but don't think I'd get a good price for it in current market. Want to go ona holiday on the proceeds.... (he cheated - rings mean nothing now, just flase and empty promises). I am SO much happier without him or the rings! Would like to lose the surname tho but can't cos of the dcs....

I took mine off and launched them at the departing ex h and shouted the emergency 'c' word after him.
I think you should take them off when you feel ready and try not to think about it too much. For example, if you are washing up take them off and maybe not go back to them or pawn them and buy yourself a nice replacement item for you with the money?
