Has anyone else had a letter from Council Tax?

Asking if they still live alone? Just wondered as I got one but my other single friends didn't? I'm a bit worried as my boyfriend stays here sometimes but he has his own house. I hope someone hasn't thought he lives with me? I can't afford to pay any money to them and I don't trust the council.

I wonder if they'll come a search around the house? Getting a bit worried now.

well they wont find anyone else living there if you haven't got anyone so not a problem is it.

Not that any of us like 'officals' poking about in our private lives.

Also if he owns his own house, he will be paying the council tax for that one so that will be proof.

thanks for answering. I think I'm worried as a few of his things are here so I'll get him to take them home. One is his bike as it's good for road cycling round here.

They would really need to prove he lived there though, and whats wrong with him keeping his bike at yours. Don't think there is a rule about that.

He may not have a garage or space of his own.You will be fine

that's good then. I suppose if they do come and check then check he pays council tax then it'll be ok? Thanks for putting my mind at rest I was panicking as I know what councils can be like.

I used to get a letter periodically asking to confirm I was still a single occupant. I thought at first someone might of 'tipped off' the council even though I had no-one else here

Glad it isn't just me then oldraver thanks for replying. I hate the idea of someone snooping round my house.
