My lovely dear step Son, 23, is a single parent. He is finding life quite lonely right now. He thinks he is never going to find the right girl.

He wants to find someone to settle down with and marry. A Family.

He is working full time, so is finding meeting people difficult - like alot of you -His Daughter is nearly 3.

What advice would you give him?

He is - IMO doing a fab job with GD

ps he is a Shane Ward look-a-like...well I think so anyway!

Would you be put off by him being a lone parent?

I will send him along here later for a look at your offers advice

aseriouslyblondemoment · 07/01/2009 21:45

seriously divvy
online dating sites are great and alot of us on here have had considerable success with them
there's no longer the stigma attached to them either
he can message/chat/msn/text etc til he's sure that he would feel comfortable meeting up

Mamazon · 07/01/2009 21:47

most of us single parents have at least looked at internet dating.
its not as sleazy or sad as many would think.

but if' he's a fitty do get him to create a profile

aseriouslyblondemoment · 07/01/2009 21:50

if he is seriously fit thou would an online pic be an idea or an ask to see my hidden pics?
it's just a thought
maybe a way of finding a genuine lady?

KingCanuteIAm · 07/01/2009 21:57

I don't think being a single father is anything that will out off most people these days, especially a single mother but also single childless women.

Seriously, at 24 he really has not got anything to worry about, he is young, he has a child (always a pull on the ladies heartstrings ) and he sounds pretty caring and loyal to me!

Perfect package

if he lives in manchester lol ill be interested ha ha. and why would us single lone mums be put of by him being a lone parent??? i certainly wouldnt. im 21 female pics on profile. im not the best lookin girl ever tho but yeah umm fell free to get back to me haha

lunavix · 17/02/2009 09:26

If he lives in Berks ;)

lunavix · 17/02/2009 09:29

Maybe we should have a little MN dating service ;) I know a few lovely guys who while I know it wouldn't work out with myself personally or any close friends I know they'd be perfect for someone! Doesn't everyone!

CrackerNut · 17/02/2009 09:30

Damn i'm too old.

He sounds lovely though

Coldtits · 17/02/2009 09:36

GOD that sounds fantastic, he is very young but that is well mitigated by his single parent status, IMHO.

His age is what's stopping him being lucky in love. If he was 10 years older he'd have 20 something single mums all over him like bees on honey! I balk at dating non-parents to be honest, so the lone parent thing is a good thing, it's his age that would put me off (am 28)

I would personally prefer to go out with a single dad now as it would make life easier. When i met ds's dad he was a single dad to two girls and it certainly didnt put me off.

Im sure your son will meet someone in time and if any girls he meets are put off by his being a single parent then they arent worth being with anyway..
