Hi there. I am a new single mother who wants a fresh start this year. I would like to meet other mums with babies under 1 who would like to meet up for coffee, shopping, a bit of a moan, share baby stories, gym, swimming... or just a general chat from time to time. Eldest daughter is 13 and the youngest is 11 so they are at school most of the time.

Have a look at www.SingleWithKids.co.uk, single parent meets are arranged all around the country and there's a holiday in May specifically for single parents with pre-schoolers and babies.

If you have time away from your little one, I'd also recommend an activity group called Spice - they have everything from plane walking through to pole dancing, summer balls to fancy dress parties, predominantly for single adults - brilliant fun !

Gingerbread run local groups around the country - www.gingerbread.org.uk - if you give them a call they'll let you know your nearest group.
