Would I qualify for housing in the south east and what would be the process?
I’m in a relationship that I’m deeply unhappy in and it’s becoming toxic now. I’ve got 2 girls, 1 & 3 years old. I’m unmarried, with no assets in my name (which has contributed to the relationship breakdown). I work minimum wage part time and have been unable to get anything paying any better in the last year in an attempt to regain my independence. With nursery fees and rent I’d have to make 55k to be able to pass affordability checks anyway which just seems so out of reach at the moment.
I don’t care about getting housed, I’d go in a private rental if o could afford to but I genuinely have no where to go. No friends that could house me or family nearby.
Would the council refuse to help me if I left the relationship? If they would, what would be the likely process? I have maybe 2000 in my account but aware I’m going to have to buy beds car seats etc and I’ve kept that small amount as a lifeline!
Im so unhappy and I can’t bear the thought of my oldest hearing anymore arguing despite our best efforts to not fight in front of her but I feel trapped.
