Hi
ExH left last year. Christmas was really hard for Ex related reasons. I don't see him. He sees kid 2h every 2 weeks. I asked for more. He does it to make my life hard and so I cant move on.

Had teens birthday. All fine.

Now younger child birthday. Im scared about managing the whole party. The presents. Party is 2w after birthday. Party venue is good, I know them. But its a party room. I take all food and drink. Nowhere to heat stuff up or wash up.

How can I make it as easy and simple as possible?

I thought sandwich platter or remake sandwiches, and crisps and biscuits, blueberries. I don't want it to be completely crap.

Order gift bags. Buy supermarket cake.

Thanks

@MummysInvisibleFriend - do you know any local teenagers who babysit, and might be willing to come along and help out, if you paid them?

I'm a single mum who has now done many a party alone, things we've had for food...sandwiches, crisps, cheese strings, yoghurt tubes, packets of biscuits and some fruit. I've done both jugs of squash and fruit shoot type juices. Mainly stuff that wouldn't go to waste if it wasn't eaten as could use for other lunches and snacks...they always get eaten though!

I also tend to do some cans of juice or bottles of water for parents and some brownies or something from Iceland.

Definitely bin bags, tea towel, knife for cake, napkins, cleaning wipes, lighter. Also foil or clingfilm to wrap cake for party bags, or a big plate and hand it round at party if you have time.

My most well received and cheapest party bag was a book from The Works with a bag of Haribo, the punch balloon, glow stick bracelet, slap band. You can bulk it out if like but this was a hit with both parents and children. Put it in those clear cellophane bags with a thank you sticker

Would definitely order yourself some pizza's or have a ready meal for dinner that night...and a large glass of wine!!

Thankfully I've convinced her no party this year, we're going to a caravan with a hot tub :P
