Changing names... is it wrong?

My DD is 3 yrs, and there has been no contact with her dad this year. I want to change her surname to be the same as mine. When she is older i want her to feel like the two of us belong together, not that she was rejected by her father. Is this wrong?

i would change baby name back to yours. both my dcs have my name as they with two dps so dont want them to be different, that way we are al in our own family. its the best thing i did, as dp asked to have his name but want the kids to be te same
