not sure what to do here... My ex-husbands uncle died and his funeral is on wednesday. We separated a year ago and are on good terms and i am still close to his immediate family. Seeing them at least once a month.
Do you think I should go to the funeral? I did know his uncle and he was a nice man. Ex-husband wants me to go but I'm not sure. Do you think I will be expected to go?
anyone been in this situation?

Not been in that situation but it's up to you really.
In the long term you might feel better if you can look back and say to yourself that you did go.

It's a mark of respect to his memory and to the surviving family

If as you say you knew him and liked him and if you're still close to his immediate family I think you should go, yes

Is there a particular reason you don't want to or are you just not sure you should

I think if ex wants you to go and you want to go and ex's family are ok and friendly with you then go. I doubt you're expected to tbh but go if you want to. Or if you want to for ex.

thanks everyone for your messages. I wasnt sure whether I should go or am expected to go.. and it meant taking a day off work. I was also interested in what people would do in the same situation.
I think I will go and like you said jmg i will feel better if I did go. thanks again.
