I didn't for a very, very long time. DD never liked sleeping over so he brought her back at 7pm and picked her up again at 8:30am.

I started getting nights to myself when DD became old enough to go on sleepovers with friends, which she has always been happy to do.

She's a teen now and will still only sleep over at his if it's for contact over Christmas or if visiting his family 100 miles away, otherwise she just visits one day a weekend. She doesn't seem him as a parent, they have more of an Uncle/Niece relationship - she says it's nice to visit but it's not home.

I was a single mum for 10 years with my son and I was the same as you. I had him full time. He never went to his Dads. On reflection I’m glad as his Dad was not fit for purpose shall we say.

Me! I'm a lone parent. Ex h and OW moved to the other end of the country and he said he no longer wanted contact. So that was that.

Me. Ex moved abroad. He has visited DD a handful of times but hasn't had her overnight at all since we split

Me. It's likely to stay that way too.

Aside from my honeymoon when ds was 2.5yrs old, I have never spent a night away from him. At 15 now, it won't be long till I can leave him home alone for a night.

didn't have a night to myself for 14 years. and yes, I consider myself lucky. Why wouldn't I? I wanted to be a parent, I was a parent, I had what I wanted

good for you but I didn't choose to parent alone. That's not "what I wanted"

@MintGreenC I am a single parent....

I have two dc who haven't seen their birth dads since being newborns (single parent), then 2 dc with stbxh who I co-parent with.

Yep, i have 100% of care at my house. Ex is too unwell to help. No family locally either although maybe once a year I get a few days off with a family member helping out. It's tough!

Do you have any family or friends that would allow you to have a night to yourself?

No unfortunately there is no one that would have them overnight at all.
