Just to let you all know - I have found a new lease of life! (from somewhere???!!)I have been thinking (for a very long time) that I should get off my backside and do a degree with the OU. I've just taken the 1st step by registering and I'm feeling all smug and studenty!!

Oh, and I had a snog today on my lunch break!!! ....

....And he's popping in tomorrow for 'coffee'

Sorry - very excited!!!!

yeah exactly! it does, i've applied for a refresher course for june - am thinking better to ease into it again, could go straight for sept's course but I don't want to take on too much too soon and be over whelmed.

hey i'm not sexually deprived - ok well I am but hey there's always bob!

deffo student mums lets all stand together - I for one am doing these courses so next September I can start a maths degree and go on to teach seniors maths. really don't care about a man right now - unless he wants to walk in my direction then he can, but for me it's about DS and doing the course.

you go scramble!

davidtennantsmistress · 19/03/2008 00:01

gb - hope you get the job.

we can improve things for ourselves & raise our kids to be all they can be

Scramble · 19/03/2008 00:18

Teehee he is my boss, but I am the one doing the degree, he decided not to this time aw shame.

goingbonkers · 19/03/2008 20:14

You go girl! And wipe the floor with him! I just heard from the job I applied for - I've been shortlisted and have an interview in a fortnight! Really hope I get it as it sounds great! ...Will keep you posted.

DavidTmistress - sounds like you're aiming high - good for you! It drives me mad how people think single parents are sponging off society. I for one am almost self sufficient bar a tiny amount of housing ben, I work, look after my daughter and my sisters kids. Hardly sitting on my arse all day doing nothing! I'm certainly not complaining - I'm loving every minute (well almost!) and I'm proud to be doing it all alone.

And as for the man thing I totally agree. It would be nice sometimes to have a few cuddles at the end of a long day and some adult company but I'm certainly not out looking. If it comes along then great, but if not I have plenty of love and special moments from my DD.

gb - thanks, i'm just seeing the end result at the mo - I know it's gonna be hard, but well, if I focus on having a great new career, good home, well balanced boy who's happy and doing well then i'll be very proud.

good luck for your interview, will keep everything crossed for you.

had a date last night as well, (said date on sat couldn't wait that long! lol) he's a touch on the short side, and from what he's told me quite hairy but he's a nice bloke so we can walk the same way for a bit I think.

scramble - yes you go girl indeed! pinching the bosses job! lol.

goingbonkers · 20/03/2008 20:36

A date on a wednesday! Can't be bad! So did he just come out and say "I'm quite hairy" or were you telling him you haven't done your legs for a while so he said it to make you feel better? Joking aside tho am quite of a real date! Good luck with it - have a bit of fun and see what happens! x

no we were talking about the things we thought would put us off each other - I said my humps n bumps he said he's a 'gorilla' so I was like oh ok don't mind a bit of a hairy chest, and he was like no it's all over so still not sure how I feel about that, only man with a hairy back I know is my dad! lol.

he rang yesterday thou - er 3 times. (gonna have to cut that out I think as he rings when DS is awake and I don't like that as I need to concentrate on DS) but went a bit 'don't think i'm gonna see you again me' [rolls eyes]' but we're still on for a date on sat so will see how things go really. he seems a little too keen, but then again I seem to be looking for any excuse not to date someone think i'm too fussy! lol. still we can walk the same way for a bit.

goingbonkers · 21/03/2008 22:43

Not the best conversation for a 1st date tho! Trying to put eachother off!!! Still, might as well see what happens! I think I would be a bit like that with a new rel tho TBH. I don't know how I'd let some1 back into my life as I'm so used to it just being the 2 of us. I actually quite enjoy it the way it is!

Hope all goes well on sat!

Happy Easter to everyone as well!!!! mmmmmmm thoughts of chocolate indulgence [drool]

no that wasn't the first date convo - that was the pre meeting on MSN convo! lol. he rang er 6 times yesterday once my mum answered the phone thinking it was x so naturally had to fill her in on all the details a lot sooner than i'd have liked, then second time he rang was in the car with mum & nan, so naturally mum told nan about the first call! nan proceeded to shout 'don't worry he's from good stock, he's one of us' blokey was laughing his head off in the background. but still 6 times was extreme thou.

still yes everyone happy easter...... hmmm choccy!

CrackerOfNuts · 22/03/2008 08:40

I long for the day when I can start a thread like this.

Sounds fab goingbonkers, and LOL at your lucky knickers.

goingbonkers · 23/03/2008 21:39

DT's Mistress - I see! Lol at nan's comment! I would have been mortified!!!

Still he must be pretty keen calling 6 times! You go girl!! (And maybe divert to answer machine occasionally!!

CrackerOfNuts - I hope you're inspired enough to consider making some positive changes if possible?

Oh - lucky knickers have lost their magic. Not a single snog yesterday. Damn. Maybe try no knickers??? [hmmm]

Maybe not.

Oops - too many m's. That was

OP posts:
davidtennantsmistress · 25/03/2008 10:01

tried that - yesterday and sunday in fact - all I got from him was a call on my mobile saying 'where are you and why are you not answering the phone' lol. in his defence yesterday it was cos he was trying too cook me a roast dinner but can't cook - bless! lol. came out very well actually - managed to salvage most of it, so for the minute it's all good. and without sounding gushy

goingbonkers · 25/03/2008 21:33

You haven't snogged this guy tho! Otherwise I would tend to agree - but it's electric with him!!!! I am all for the cuddles. Anything I can get really. (Not that I'm desperate or anything!!! )

Glad to hear things are going well with your hairy man! Sounds like he's a real sweetie to cook for you! Hang on to him if I were you! Would you consider sharing???

My snog now seems a distant memory... So if lucky knockers don't work, and no knickers are out of the question (far too breezy!) what do I try next????

OP posts:
goingbonkers · 25/03/2008 21:35

Lol! Oops - Lucky Knockers ??? I wish!!! Correction - Lucky knickers

OP posts:
davidtennantsmistress · 26/03/2008 09:13

lol. what a freudian slip! lucky knockers! hmm what else is there to try - you know actually a friend of mine yesterday was talking about going back to the old fashioned way of dating - actually meeting someone in a bar and using one of his (very poor) chat up lines - there's always that option?

Have you seen the man since your coffee date?

Afraid i'll not be sharing him going to see what happens but he's already on about his birthday in 3 weeks so he seems keen enough . For someone who wasn't that bothered really about having a man about & finding something wrong with everyone! (literally) he's been like a whirlwind!

goingbonkers · 26/03/2008 20:44

I'll keep everything crossed for you!

Coffee date is one of my best friends so am always in touch but he came out of a LTR just before xmas. He seems to be reluctant to start anything at the mo but we have talked about it. We both have feelings for eachother but time will tell if it will go anywhere.
