Help, My 18 month old smacks everyone

My 18 month old smacks or punches everyone young or old. can anyone help me stop him without me smacking him.

Pick him up, remove him from whereever you are, say NO forcefully, make a big fuss of other child / adult and pay no attention to him at all for 90 seconds .. then just get on with normal life after the 'time out'

Do it every single time, wherever, whenever .. make sure other people you hang out with do exactly the same when they see it and you're not around

my dd is currently doing it, she hits, pulls hair and throws her whole weight onto you which really hurts. i think twigletts advice is good, which is what i do

your child is not the only one who does this. Mine did it too. If you treat it right (firm not furious) they do grow out of it.
