Pushchair trouble with two toddlers

Hi not sure im posting this in the right place but ill have a goanyway.Im a single parent to two ds's.I dont drive and am finding it increasingly difficult to get out and about with my ds's ds1 aged 3 and ds2 20 months.I have a graco double pushchair but suffer from back pain and this pushchair is so heavy.Ideally ds1 should be walking everywhere now but he is terrible when i take out just the single pushchair for ds2 he sits on the floor,cries and basically just wont move and obviously that can be hard when im trying to push a buggy at the same time.I have thought about buying a phil and teds as they are not as heavy/bulky as my current double but are v expensive.Is this my only option or has anyone got any other suggestions.

Forgot to say with ds1 its not just that he is a pain walking his speech is actually very poor and he is recieving speech therapy so its hard to find out why he is doing this and what he wants me to do.Also have tried a seat to go but he was scared to sit on it.

Hi bluebell1 have you tried a buggy board for the single pushchair or isn`t this an option?

My DD has not long gone 3 now and she is very bad at walking long distances she moans and cries and i`m more or less dragging her to nursery

You`ve just answered the question i asked , have you looked around for any cheaper double pushchairs, as i also think phil and teds are expensive, and you might not use it for much longer

Hi mummyofaprincess do you think a buggy board would be better than the seat to go.This is when i have trouble on the way to nursery.I have to say though it really isnt far from where i live but seems miles with a toddler who wont walk.

I have to often pick DD up and i shouldnt really as im now 7 months pregnant.

I would recommend the mothercare urban detour. It has air filled wheels which makes it so easy to push. I used to look after a toddler the same age as my ds and used it for the 50 min school run. It's so light to push and really easy to manoevre. They are always on ebay really cheap. The only dis-advantage is that they're are quite wide, although, I frquently did the supermarket shopping with it and had no probs getting round there!!! It's also great for getting up and down steps. I used to live on the first floor and didn't have a problem bumping it up and down the stairs with one child in it!

Thank you mogs0 i will have a look at that one as its good to know easy up stairs as i too live on a first floor.

I was scouring ebay last night and there are a few for sale there at the mo. The postage is usually quite high but I know a courier that charges about £8 for p&p (have used them a few times).
