CSA have still, STILL, despite having since June, despite having my exp's address, work adress, and income details, they have still not manages to get any farking MONEY out of him.

And I know it sounds grasping, but seriously he owes about a grand in payments, I am owed nearly £300 of that (which I apparently won't see until the poor impoverished Sec of State gets paid back for the IS I had to receive until ex starts paying) and my job at KFC STILL hasn't materialised, the damned place hasn't opened yet, and I'm starting to panic. It's £40 a month that would pay for something useful.

I could be £30 a week better off if people would just get their damned act together.

They have had every detail it is possible to want about my ex for three years.

All they ever did for the first two and a half of those, is write to him once and when he failed to reply, closed the case as he was considered to be 'untraceable'. Now, they cannot ever recover the unpaid money for that time, as once a case is closed thats it. Finito.

I do have a new case, but it is in Plymouth. Or to be more precise, it got lost on its way to Plymouth.

He lives in the North and I in the Midlands - though we did once catch a ferry in Plymouth...

CSA are as useless as a hat full of arseholes, same here regarding my ex and his details, and i still can't get as much as a fart in a gale out of them.

I went through the complaints procedures, and after 18 months finally am getting small, random amounts appearing in my bank account. Less than he should be paying, but something at least.

colditz ring the csa up and ask them why you arent't receiving the money, keep on at them until you get an answer, if you dont get anywhere then contact a CRO (complaints resolution officer) and they have to acknowledge your complaint and reply within time scale.

You have my sympathy. Be prepared to be tearing your hair out in three years time when you still haven't received a penny .

Tell me, have you heard the following yet?

a. Im sorry he's not replying, we'll send another letter, please give us 3 months then call back (this will go on for about a year).

b. It will go to enforcement if he doesn't respond.

c. We will take it out of his wages.

d. He has denied living at the above address, can you prove he lives there?

e. We will send someone around to visit.

f. We sent someone around to visit, but his gf said he doesn't live there, can you prove he does?

g. Its now with enforcement, call a different number.

h. Im afraid your caseworker is off sick/on holiday and I cant see the same screens.

i. Its gone to the bailiffs and they dont take phonecalls, even from us.

j. We will email the bailiffs, response time is 24hrs.

k. The bailiffs havent responded, we will email them again as they dont take phonecalls, they should respond within 24 hrs.

l. Your case has been sent to "stuck cases" please phone this team.

m. "Stuck cases" dont take phonecalls, I dont know why you were told they did.

n. Your case has been sent to Ireland.

Im not being sarcastic, these are just some of the things ive been told.

the thing is, |I know he will pay when he has the right paper work, but they have been sending the paperwork with the wrong company heading to his workplace.

In hindsight, I would have logged every call I made to them with dates, times and the person I spoke to because it has gone on forever. Also, if they send you a calculation, dont get over excited, it doesn't mean anything. Its just computer generated and doesn't mean there's any agreement to pay said amount.

There's a knack to this maintenance thing. I have learnt never to include it in any income calcs I do and just accept that the sporadic payments I now receive approx. every 2 weeks are a bonus.

He is supposed to pay me £90 a week (maint plus arrears)..I get.............£7.50

and like I say, it took me three years to get that! plus letters to local mp, chief exec of csa, complaints and a PI!

I wouldn't hold my breath colditz, I have had the same things said to me as scruffyteddy has, plus more. The most common one now being "your caseworker is off sick/on holiday and I can't access the nformation"

"our systems are down at the moment, can you call back later?"

"that case was lost/closed, there's nothing we can do"

and then a year ago a letter saying they had contacted exdp and his earnings are nil so his maintanance contributions are £0. I called them up and asked them how they think he is eating/paying bills/surviving on nil earnings. They said they couldn't comment on what he does in his life, but on the system it says he is not earning or claiming benefits.

Oh I forgot that one "our systems are being upgraded"..really? You mean they will be improved whoooooooooo.

How do they lose a case I want to know...what, they have a YT kid who cant be arsed and throws things down the back of "the big filing cabinet"?

Will they eventually find a case, covered in fluff, pork pie and one strong mint, 20 years later when they refurbish the office? Like a 'lil time capsule?

I know someone who used to work for CSA who said they do almost exactly that - deal with the easy cases because figures look good if they get things sorted and shove the most complex ones (self-employed, unknown addresses ect) in the wrong place so they aren't where they were meant to be so they were 'lost' and it wasn't the persons who hadn't dealt with its fault because they had never had it in the first place.

Now that is only hearsay and only one office but I do actually believe them!

Get some very very large male friend of yours to have a word with him in an alley. Infallible, I'm telling you from experience

it took them 8 months to get anything out of my dp but that's cos they had to go down the route of making him have a dna test. not sure why they can't get anything out of him if they have all his details? when my exdp didnt return paperwork they sent someone round to see him and told him if he didn't return it they would sending around bailiffs. he soon sent the forms back

If you have a contact number give the CSA that, i did wiv my xp and it must ahev been an easy case cos they did sumfin about it, 91st time dreading how long its gunna take them to collect it for me)
