"So you think you can be a single parent?" 8pm. Some celeb is a single mum for a week, 3 kids I think. Could be good for a laugh if nothing else

you just get into a routine dont you

finish work
pick kids up
feed them
bath them
read stories
cook your own tea & tidy up
go on MN

bet celebs dont have that routine!

ScruffyTeddy · 09/01/2008 21:15

I think for starters celebs..and celebs who do not have children..well. It was going to be hard for them anyway. I dont think it will prove anything tbh.

May have been more realistic to have a normal average married/partnered mother spend a week as a single mother. Then they would have something to compare to.

But still, nice to see those sparkling houses lol. Im actually quite envious of those single mums as my routine normally goes to hell!

I thought that about the houses scruffy. I am a sahm and my house doesn't look that good.

bluebell1 · 09/01/2008 21:57

Im just off to bed but had to post my heart sank when in the first few minutes of the programme the guy said about having four kids with four dads.Give us a break. Will be interesting viewing but agree with lewisfan and nutcracker 3 days is nowhere near long enough.

ScruffyTeddy · 09/01/2008 22:08

It isnt long enough, but it would hardly be fair to the kids involved to make it any longer.

and as for that comment...well. Sad but true, its how many think. I did want to wipe his smug grin off though

I did thought it was hilarious that these pampered, well off celebs were shattered after only a couple of hours!!! At least Rhona was honest saying she is selfish, never wanted kids and didn't have much of a family life growing up.

I got a lump in my throat when they were saying about how lonely it can be in the evening when the kids are in bed and also there's no-one to share with and there's no 'me' time.

I did have one gripe though, the mum that brushed her floors twice a day and hoovered once a day AND mopped too - where does she get the time or the energy!!!???

squareheadcut · 09/01/2008 23:18

don't stress - she was just doing that mopping for the cameras probably

ScruffyTeddy · 09/01/2008 23:24

Maybe they thought "right..this is what I would do most days if I had any energy left, so i'll put it down on the list and get these lazy slebs to do it" .

I hoover once a week, proper job, furniture out. Mop prob twice a week and sweep once a day. Still get the bits though...where do bits come from? Unidentified 'lil crusty things?

One of life's mysteries.

That apostrophe looks wrong, but it may not be.

Hmm I'm not sure on the apostrophe either - think it is wrong, but not entirely convinced! Not that it really matters!

I hope she doesn't hoover so much - puts me totally to shame!
