Increased anxiety after being with Dad

My DD (7) is becoming increasingly clingy and anxious after being with her Dad. He says she's happy when she's there and I have no reason not to believe this, but she doesn't like his GF and he refuses to speak to DD about this. Regardless, she's so clingy and upset for a few days after she's been with him. It's getting worse not better. We've been separated almost 3 years now. Has anyone experienced this?

I think it’s common from that I’ve heard. It’s likely the transition more than anything else.

Any tips on how I can help to make it better?

Talk to her dad about it. Find ways the 4 of you can get along better.

My daughter is the same. And it's been four years. It is the transition. I remember as a child feeling awful leaving my mum/dad to go to the other. I was just sad I had separated parents. I couldn't articulate it.

Just give her calm environment. My dd has a bath pjs and we cuddle up in my bed and chat. By the morning it's back to normal.

Sorry no direct experience as my kids don’t see their father but from the single parent groups I’m on I can see it’s a common thing so try not to worry.
