lets hope that any money from fathers is in addition to benefits instead of.

They are SO disorganised IME. DH has had 4 letters in the last 2 months, each saying they'd decided he had to pay xx and enclosing paying in slips. He has been paying by direct debit for the past 6 years, never missed a payment, filled in his assessment honestly and promptly (and paid ex money while it was being sorted out). When he phoned they said to just ignore them it was a computer glitch.

What a waste of time and money! They should be spending their time instead working on the cases where fathers (or mothers) don't pay.

I so know that feeling surfermum DP told them 5 mnths ago he had been made redundant and they havent yet reassessed him. When he was working he always paid on time and is still paying off arrears that were run up while they spent 8 mnths sorting out his case last time. At the time he was paying money direct to his ex but they wouldnt take that into account. Hes been sent three bills and they only managed to send out a reassessment form last week. I mean 5 mnths to send out one form????? Seems to me the CSA are spending all their time harrassing fathers who are willing to pay rather than chasing fathers who arent. I know lots of fathers who have refused to pay and have just got away with it.

Asa far as i know the father of my children hasn't been contacted once and i filled in a form initially a year last july

What always shocks me, is the number of men who are prepared to see their children suffer in this way by denying them money they need. We hear so much crap about the superheroes who are being denied access, I remember reading an article where it was suggested jailing resident parents for blocking access, but to my knowledge, no-one has ever suggested jailing absent fathers for not paying maintenance, and yet the abuse to the child is of a similar order. Yet it simply is not seen as an issue. There was some government creep on Today this morning and John Humphries kept asking him who was to blame for the CSA fiasco, and he really wasn't interested - let's face it, it's only women and children, so it doesn't matter.
Makes me seethe!
