my DCs are away from tom til Sun then from Boxing day til the following sat

OK I get them Xmas eve & Xmas day BUT am still finding it hard to get excited about Xmas knowing I have them for so little time over the Xmas period....especially as Im working next week as might as well work if I dont have the DCs to save my holiday

aww, feel for you but at least you see their faces xmas morning, just try to keep busy. This is my first xmas split from my git dh and I'm not having him here xmas morning he will have her boxing day, but I have to say I'm dreading my time off, I'm a family person and this being the year that we aren't together as a family is really horrible

my family have moaned that I let the DCs go Boxing day but Id rather that than have to give up Xmas day

still feel sad about it but thats life

It is all just so sad. Ds will spend his time between mummy and daddy, we even asked Santa to leave half his pressies.... Breaks my heart. But take comfort in that he is much loved and hopefully he knows it. Cant deny that I am so pissed off that all is not rosy for my son, but it could be SO much wotse

i am working christmas eve.... dd with her dad until 11 christmas day... then she is with me until 3rd Jan... (he wouldnt want her new years)
i am not looking foward to dd not being here christmas morning... it breaks my heart, specially as i know she would rather be here with me... and i know i he has to be part of it but it annoys me when he does little else all year by that i mean homework, her washing sorting school things, getting dd to school, clubs parties...

so i do feel like i am missing out with christmas....

My first lone parent christmas [gulp].

ExH is staying on christmas eve, and going after kids in bed on Christmas day. So I don't have the wrench of kids spending time away from me. Not sure how Christmas eve will be once kids in bed and PIL go home. I have TV in my room so I might leave him on the sofa if its crap and see what old movies are on.

Not sure how I will feel on CHristmas day once he goes, I think PIL will be here until after he leaves. I thinkI might want to be alone then not sure, .

Perhaps I will be looking for comapny on here Christmas day night. Perhasp I will be too tired to care and go to bed.

I am sure there will be a few people around,Krimble.

I have to say mn has saved my sanity in the evenings as though I am not a lone parent dp has been in hospital for last 4 months so I am an honorary one.(He may get a couple of hours home on Christmas day but will be back i hospital in the evening.)So I am sure I will be around if you are looking for a natter

If it gets bad, just keep reminding yourself that there are people out there spending Xmas with partners they loathe and despise, or who abuse them. (and there will probably be at least one desparate thread from someone whose luvly fambly xmas has ended in a fistfight and giblets all over the floor). And from the DCs point of view, they get two lots of presents, fuss and special meals. It's really not so bad so pour yourself a nice drink/open a box of good sweeties and wish yourselves well.

Oh Wrinkly I hope your DH gets home for a bit on Christmas Day.

Yes MNet helps a lot on thses lonely nights. I was just as lonely when he was still with me, no arguing as he was never here.

Anyway on a positive note I hope you are all getting a little treat for yourselves. I think I might cash in my boots points or use the 3 for 2 as an excuse to get some nice smellies for me me me.
Go on even if it is just a little thing a nice scarf, face cream what ever, you deserve it.

This is my first xmas without my dh, we separated earlier this year, my stupid, hasty decision.
He is now with someone else and they are having a baby, due on my birthday in May.

i just want to die.

Reading this makes me feel very lucky. I am alone, yes, but I will have both my precious boys here with me. Neither father has shown much interest, for which I am so grateful to whoever is up there

I really feel for you i was gutted when my ex left me, but it does get easier , it was 2 years ago and i have moved on lots even though i never thought i would. ex got married this year and i really thought it wold destroy me but it didnt becasue i wont let it, i have got one life with my gorgeous girls and i have got to live it and make the most of it...

try and get through christams the best you can with your d/c.... and make some goals to focus on and strive towards in 2008....

it is a hard time for lots of people and i hope you can find some strength form somewhere.. ((((((hugs)))))

I've thankfully got my kids xmas day but xh has them boxing day.
It annoys me that all presents from me are from father christmas, all presents from him are from him. Don't want dds to think he's nicer than me!

thankfully i will have both the kids on xmas day, plus i have lots of family and some great friends around.
Doesnt really take away the pain tho..
