How to deal with contact

My ex is in the process of moving to his new house.
He has said he wants 50/50 with our 4.5 year old DD (just started school).
This is coming from the man who has very rarely done pick up and drop off and left it all to me and for me to work my work around.
I'm currently off work with anxiety, depression and stress and expect I will be for sometime.
I am not confident he will stick to the arrangement and, knowing I'm off work, will look to me to pick up after him.
I obviously don't want to make this harder on our daughter, but I also don't to be taken for a fool - how do I stand my ground and keep it fair?
The contact plan we have gone for is 2,2,3.

Would it be possible to agree to a trail period and then review after an agreed period of time. You say you want to keep it fair, but your child’s welfare and happiness is more important then fairness for parents. The arrangement has to work for her and children that age need structure and routine. It’s possible he will step up when he has no other choice.

Agree with a trail that sounds like a good idea, if it’s his time then he needs to make alternative arrangements if he can’t have her but then some women get annoyed if kids are left with other people and would prefer to be asked first do you need to discuss it between you what would happen if he couldn’t have her for any reason.
