When do CM payments come to an end?

DS is 18 and in his last year of A levels. He is going to university (we hope) at the end of September.

My CMS schedule of payments notes August as the last payment, but dad has already stopped paying as DS school assessments are completed. Is the schedule wrong or my ex?

If you can point me to a website, link, or document that establishes when is the officialcut off point I would be very grateful.

I’m in the same position, I thought it was July or August so I presume your schedule is right. I’m trying to figure out how much less I will be receiving for 1 child instead of 2 (ironically to see how much I can afford to support my 18 yo at uni when they clearly become free to keep!)

My CMS review say August, do yours as well?

There is a child maintenance calculator in direct.gov.Uk that you can use to calculate how much he would be asked to pay for one child.

Sending them to University or having the funds for it has been a constant worry. Some way everyone assumes that once they get a student loan and a part time job on the side everything will be fine, but in a good amount of cases the loan just about covers the accommodation costs and transport even when they get the full maintenance loan.

I knew it was going to come to an end, I thought it would be ok(ish) but what I was not expecting was that with all the Covid mess I would need to find another job, and this one pays far less than the previous one... all a mess.

Tax Credits and Child Benefit are until 31 August so I'm guessing that Child Maintenance will be the same.

I’d managed to lock myself out of my account earlier but I’ve checked and my letter doesn’t have an end date, it just says from January 2021. Her student loan is bigger than I thought so at least that’s something. Good point by totoros.
Hope you get your ex sorted!

It is most definitely the August as despite school assessments being completed he is still on the school role till August 31st. Had exactly the same with dss, my now exh then contributed towards university costs but directly to dss and not as much as the cms amount till he graduated.

It's the end of August. I had this two years ago when my son finished college.

My ex though decided as soon as son finished college in the June that all payments would stop as he had done his "bit"! Ex completely refused to pay anymore towards his son and hasn't paid a penny since then.
