Interesting. Just shows how seriously the issue of maintenance is taken in this country.

WideWebWitch · 28/10/2004 21:04

God, yes, you're right Harman.

WideWebWitch · 28/10/2004 21:05

Oh come on Joolstoo, please. Caligula, hear hear.

WideWebWitch · 28/10/2004 21:08

btw, I get 525 pcm from ex dh for one (7yo) child. This is a voluntary arrangement, nothing to do with the CSA. I'm with a new partner and work full time outside the home (dp is a sahd to ds and our dd, nearly 1). I gave up a well paid job to stay at home with ds for 5 years and, before ds and divorce, would have laughed at anyone who'd have told me I'd work for 525 a month (it was my only income for a while).

bonym · 29/10/2004 11:00

I get £377 a month from ex dh - not sure what he earns but is probably around £30k - mind you this amount was assessed by the CSA 4 years ago and hasn't increased although I know damn well that his salary has.

Thanx for starting this thread, very interesting indeed how much maintenence payments vary.
My child isn't born yet & i was thinking of asking £50 pw when i know he earns around 30k. Maybe this is on the low side & i should expect more? It would be nice not to have to involve the CSA.

Me exp gave up a good job and buggered off abroad to live with some woman he met on the internet. HE says he's not working and the CSA has no jurisdiction (sp?) abroad unless he works for a British company so he's got out of paying for my 2 dds and his other 2 dds from a previous marriage for 3 years now. It doesn't seem to bother his conscience one bit that he has just left it all to me and his ex (now a good friend of mine - common enemy and all that!) and assumed we'll manage. Bast*rd .

Phoebe25 · 29/10/2004 12:22

I HATE MEN!

The CSA should stand for

Castration Service Allowed.

Listmaker, what a spineless git he sounds. Where do they get off by refusing to cough up maintenence??? Grrr

Uwila · 29/10/2004 13:27

Sorry guys, I'm an outsider lurking here. But, I just can't resist adding that I think Caligula is spot on regarding x-wife's £400/month. She stayed home for how many years? While he travelled to promote his career? And then he should get out and have no obligations? OMG what about the life she didn't persue because he vowed to share his with her... and then changed his mind.

I'm sorry, but I just don't think anyone has the right to walk out and then think they shouldn't be responsible for however many years of promises that they no longer wish to honor.

Okay okay, I don't know your friend. Perhaps she's a whitch and deserved it. But, in general, I do think that women get a raw deal when their husbands (whose carers they have supported) decide to trade up for a newer model.

Hope no one kills me for this post... just think men have it too easy.

MissusWoman · 29/10/2004 13:34

I get nothing from mine. He reckons his babysitting services equate to £x so he doesn't have to pay.

Caligula · 29/10/2004 14:12

Hmm, I like the way he thinks looking after his own kids is babysitting. So what about all the babysitting you do, then?

jampot · 29/10/2004 14:16

Thanks for this thread - I am now sitting here working out what I would get if I kicked dh out

tammybear · 29/10/2004 14:29

lol jampot

quick question is there any way of finding out how much exp earns without having to ask him or going through CSA to see how much I should be getting?

Uwila · 29/10/2004 14:38

"Babysitting" is something one does for SOMEONE ELSE'S children.

What a schmuck.

tammybear · 29/10/2004 14:40

my exp use to say that about my dd too or that he was looking after her for a favour for me

jojo38 · 29/10/2004 15:32

LOL - mine says the same... well almost

If I try to arrange dates with him, his retort is - I'm not your f'ing babysitter So I don't bother with that anymore either...

Its a joke. I honestly think I was put on this earth to have all the shit of men piled on top of me. Oh well Im too tired to care.

Phoebe25 · 29/10/2004 15:34

Tammybear - How about killing him off & then raiding his house for old wage slips?

Did i say that out loud??

tammybear · 29/10/2004 15:35

lol phoebe, that thought has crossed my mind plenty of times

jojo38 · 29/10/2004 15:55

Come on ladies, I need to know the answer to tammybear's question...
How about self employed dorks too?

mandajane2004 · 29/10/2004 15:55

My sons father has never paid anything in relation to our son (saying that he has only ever got him one xmas present and he is nearly 3).The csa say they cant take this any further because they cant find him.well......i have his address his phone number his new wifes phone number and i know who he works for...so how can they say they cant find him.Especially when they already got him for his other 2 kids!!!useless they are!!
PS yes the information will be passed to them lol

Caligula · 29/10/2004 16:19

LOL at your purpose on earth Jojo38! I'm sure there must be a worldwide, biggest club on earth for like minded women!

tammybear · 29/10/2004 16:37

i dont understand how CSA work though. you're suppose to get 15% of the fathers wage, right? i was told that id only get 10% and CSA keep the 5% for themselves. mind u, exp told me this so could have just said that to stop me from going to CSA, although i did apply over a year ago and havent heard anything from them!

Uwila · 29/10/2004 16:42

What so CSA keep 33% of you cut? Hmmmm.... sounds a bit fishy. Think all 15% is meant to go to you. But, I'm still married so couldn't speak from experience.

tammybear · 29/10/2004 16:49

just what exp told me, that apparantly CSA told him, but apparantly he went to see them, which i very much doubt as there arent any centres nearby (plus he talks out of his arse which gives me even more reason not to believe him!) I know CSA are crap, but i didnt think they would rip you off either. Has anyone actually got maintenance from CSA as i know most ppl are having problems with them?
